COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The inspiration for this brew originates in the night of January 27th in the year 1687. The moon projected its reddish glow on Saint Rumbold’s tower, which was wrapped in a dense fog. “Fire, fire, the tower is on fire!” shouts the dreary voice of a drunken man. The alarm was sounded and people were making haste to help extinguish the so-called fire. Before the tower was reached, the moon slowly moved through the fog. From that moment on, the Mechelenians are called the Maneblussers or “Moon extinguishers”. To commemorate their heroic deed, we brew a heroic beer called The Maneblusser. A blonde beer with an alcohol percentage of 6 % VOL. Brewed according to the traditional method of high fermentation with refermentation in the bottle. For the heroic Mechelenians, but not exclusively of course.

Bottle 33cl. Slightly yellow with a sturdy white top. Almost no aromas, I can only recognize some malt hints. Taste is downright bitter with no bouquet. Bitterness is not very pleasant. Not for me this Mechels town beer. Reading the other reviews I am beginning to think my bottle was spoilt?

Bottle. Pours a hazy yelow-ish colour with a one-finger bubbly white head. Faint aroma of hay. Taste is sweet and of malt, sugar, citrussy hops, spices and yeast. Below medium body and above average carbonation. Sugary and slightly spicy aftertaste with a hint of bitterness to it. Solid - and in no way bad - but still a bit average.

Pours with a lovely dense head. Hazy and almost electric yellow in colour. Quite citrusy with medium carbonation. This one goes down real easy.

Bottle @ home from beerkings.it. Birra gialla dorata con riflessi aranciati/ambrati. schiuma bianca fine mediamente persistente. Aroma abbastanza intenso, fruttato, di frutta estiva albicocca su tutto. Zucchero filato lievito belga e spezie (coriandolo su tutte). Gusto abboccato, poco amaro, maltato di caramello. Cereali, coriandolo e anche al palato si ritrova una speziatura decisa, soprattutto coriandolo. Leggermente sapida. Corposa, decisamente carbonata, un po’ spigolosa, molto astringente, poco calda. abbastanza equilibrata e piuttosto armonica.

Bottle 330 ml. Pours hazy yellow with medium white head and some lacing. Aroma: cereal, malt, yeast and lemon. Taste is about the same. A tad too sweet for my taste. Medium carbonation. Good, not great.

Slightly hazy golden. Huge and dense white head. Aroma of citrus and oranges, as well as weissbier and coriander. Same in taste, only stronger. Very fruity, also with peach. Quite carbonated. High drinkability.
