The inspiration for this brew originates in the night of January 27th in the year 1687. The moon projected its reddish glow on Saint Rumbold’s tower, which was wrapped in a dense fog. “Fire, fire, the tower is on fire!” shouts the dreary voice of a drunken man. The alarm was sounded and people were making haste to help extinguish the so-called fire. Before the tower was reached, the moon slowly moved through the fog. From that moment on, the Mechelenians are called the Maneblussers or “Moon extinguishers”. To commemorate their heroic deed, we brew a heroic beer called The Maneblusser. A blonde beer with an alcohol percentage of 6 % VOL. Brewed according to the traditional method of high fermentation with refermentation in the bottle. For the heroic Mechelenians, but not exclusively of course.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a tulip. Nice hazy, orange-brown colour with a huge, fluffy white head, that fades to a thick cap. Sweet aroma with citrus, spices, yeasts and herbal hops. A bit soapy. Taste is light sweet. Medium body, with a creamy texture, soft carbonation. Average finish with sweet fruits - peaches - and a spicy note. Well made and with a high "drinkability".

i like this one ! it drinks easy as a lager, but it has a taste of a 7 percenter. sweet , kinda reminded me ( at first sips) at nello’s blond ( if you like this one, taste the other ! ) but i realize the diffrence is big. this is ’thinner’ lighter colour,... the cool thing about this one is that they have it everywere in mechelen, even a local 5-beer-bar might have this one ! deffinetley wor(th a try, but the big amount of ’perfum’ and the ’made’ feeling of sweetness in this one makes it a mediocer beer. but a good mediocer beer..

Draft at Jack Rose. Pours a slightly hazy peach, minimal head. Nose and flavor are marked by big dried apricot notes, along with jasmine, clover honey, and hints of caramel and syrup. Straight combination of floral and sweet stonefruit presence. Not totally my thing, but actually not bad at all.

Tap at Jack Rose. Pours a low haze light gold. Medium white lace. Herbal an dried apricot nose with thick dried fruit sugar. A bit sugar heavy. Taste is dried apricot, sugar, some skunky hops, elderflower, dandelion, chamomile. Interesting. Sort of herbal adjunct saison. Maybe jasmine. Strange floral adjunct with apricot. Some honey thickness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Countbeer (4035) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUL 8, 2012
Bottle: Very big vast sticky light lively white foamy head, which disappears really slow and leaves a thick white head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer. Aroma’s of yeasty fruit notes, banana, soap, wheat, vanilla, grains and some herby spices. Flavours of wheat, bitter, light sour, yeast and yeasty fruit notes, light spicy, alcohol warmth, herbs, light malty notes, light soapy, some hops and herbs. Aftertaste is a mix of bitter, herbs, grains, light spices/alcohol and light malts. Low to medium carbo, soft light tingly mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy texture. Quite the regular Belgian ale.

Buena lager, sin embargo es de un cuerpo medio y espuma poco consistente. Aromas perfumados y con una buena combinación de levadura
