COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The inspiration for this brew originates in the night of January 27th in the year 1687. The moon projected its reddish glow on Saint Rumbold’s tower, which was wrapped in a dense fog. “Fire, fire, the tower is on fire!” shouts the dreary voice of a drunken man. The alarm was sounded and people were making haste to help extinguish the so-called fire. Before the tower was reached, the moon slowly moved through the fog. From that moment on, the Mechelenians are called the Maneblussers or “Moon extinguishers”. To commemorate their heroic deed, we brew a heroic beer called The Maneblusser. A blonde beer with an alcohol percentage of 6 % VOL. Brewed according to the traditional method of high fermentation with refermentation in the bottle. For the heroic Mechelenians, but not exclusively of course.

Clear, medium golden body with a huge, creamy, white head that laces the glass well and never shrinks beyond a thin layer. The aroma is strong with notes of pale malts, Belgian yeast, fruits and spices. Quite strong flavours that follow the aroma, with additional honey and flowers. The mouthfeel is a bit watery, lively carbonation. Moderate to light sweet taste, moderate to light bitter finish, light dryness. A nice one.

Bottle. Poured a hazy dull yellow with a smallish head. Yeasty aromas of citrus fruit. Bubbly and creamy. Tastes boozier than it is. Ok.

Pale yellow, a bit hazy. Nice firm top that lasts. Light body and a bit flat. Floral, dough. Abrupt finish, not much difference with a normal lager.

White fluffy large head, fast disappearing, over pale clear beer. Aromas offer banana, some sweet yellow fruit, yeast and a hint of something not too clean, "rough malt". Medium heavy on the palate, dry, semi-lively enough. More banana, malt and yeast, a little tired flavour, but a metallic taste also intrudes. The feeling is metal cap infection on this bottle. Otherwise it is medium length and plain refreshing.

Troebele goudkleur met een dikke witte schuimkraag. Ruikt een beetje zoet en naar citrus. Smaakt goed, niet bijzonder.

pours hazy very pale yellow with a frothy and creamy white head, good retention and lacing. crisp pils malts, yeastiness-plenty - dusty, very spicy, peppery and minty ; big dose of sulfury green leafiness, also a grainy character - rye and maybe some wheat, bit of booze. lively to moderate carbonation - looses its bubbles quickly, light body - a tad too light, assertive grassy-spicy-citrusy finish. nicely balanced, not overly complex but a good belgian ale. another good one from het anker.

Pours a pale (and hazy) yellow with a nice white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is citrusy and fresh, spicy. Some light skunk also? Taste is lightly sweet with some lemony flavors. Spices are not overwhelming but they are definitely in there. Body is light, mouthfeel flirting with "watery". Not memorable but well made enough.

Pours a hazy yellow/golden with a big white head. Typical Belgian Ale aroma of yeast, pale malt, citrus fruits, spices. Taste is a bit lemony. Unremarkable but tasty beer.
