With the hops and malt fighting for contention, Haymaker IPA won’t back down. The rich, malty base provides the windup for the hops’ crisp, bright citrus flavors. Go toe-to-toe with this well balanced and devilishly drinkable IPA, and this double dry-hopped phenom will knock you out.

Pour on tap at Beer Dabbler, slightly hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, biscuit into some orange, slight yeast into a bit of grain, spice, finishing with some earth. Taste was a mix of grass, orange peel, slight grain into some caramel, toffee, some toast, finishing bitter.

On tap at fireside bar and grill, taste quite a bit like another local beer, summit extra pale ale. Pretty tasty.

Sampled from the tap at New Bohemia. Pours a clear golden amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has sweet citrus with a touch of bitterness and a strong earthy grain backbone. Flavor starts with a touch of sweet citrus but is mostly bitter grass and earthy bread.

12 oz bottle @ home, courtesy of those wonderful Bierkoning people. Enjoy by date was 07/25/14, so more than three months past. Nice clear amber color. Off white head, stiff as whipped cream, with good retention and lacing. Aroma’s: bready & caramel malts, some fruit, light resin. Retronasal there’s hoppy acidity, bready malts and bitterhops. Flavor is moderate to full bitter, with just a light malty sweet backbone. Alcohol doesn’t feel like 6.5%. Body is light to medium. Finishes a bit dry, with a long lasting herbal bitterness. Still not bad.

Bottle from sampler. Amber with a clingy white head. Floral, lemon rind, wet hay, and french bread. Moderately bitter with a lingering floral taste. Body is medium with a soapy feel and good carbonation.

A hazy copper beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is citrus and grassy hops with strong malt. The flavor is resinous, grass, and citrus with puckering bitterness.

Picked this up in our last trip to Minnesota. It’s ok. Started out kind of sharp, but it evened out as it breathed a little. Good dose of citrus flavor.

12 oz. bottle to stemmed glass. Reddish amber color with a light tan head. Aroma was grassy. The first taste was that of a sturdy, fruity beer. The beer finishes nicely, with a moderate IPA bitterness I was looking for.
