Smells lovely; smells of caramel and chocolate Angel Delight. Sweet malty, chocolatey flavour with low hopping. Roasted notes. Good mild; could pour this back all night.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Dark brown in colour with a cream, medium sized beiege head with short longevity. Toasted malt aromas with a light general sugary sweetness. Tastes sweet, like a watery chocolate milkshake with almost no bitterness. Thin on the palate with a soft texture. For what it is, this is fine.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml bottle. More black than brown in colour with a quickly settling crackly compact tan head. Musty on the nose like a room that hasnít been open for a while, not unpleasant. Fairly thin textured and lacking in taste a little, with a smoky burnt flavour. Smooth but lacks a punch.

[ As Manns Brown Ale ]. Clear medium to dark brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is light moderate malty, caramel, toffee, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Very much like a Danish hvidt√łl.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a very deep mahogany with heaps of ruby showing through on the sides. Smallish cream coloured head. Wow nothing like I was expecting. Aromas of sweet malt, caramel, vanilla and a little sourness. Flavours are pretty much the same with lots of malt and vanilla. Slight bitter finish with some sourness. Pretty good beer considering the abv.

Delicious brown ale. Lovely subtle roasted character, with good maltiness. Small hint of bitterness, leads to a very nicely balanced, sesssion ale.

31st October 2008. Clear dark brown ale. Mild malt - just a little sourish. Unsurprisngly watery palate but itís not too bad a thing as with itís reasonable flavour itís quite refreshing.
