1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Solid black with a red tint and a thin quick disappearing brown head. Raisins, light roasted malt, chocolate. Rough grainy prickly thin body slightly oily. The pasteurization killed it. Club soda, once the carbonation is gone it tastes like flat Coke. Brown sugar and molasses. Maybe little chocolate. Feels like flat beer. Yuk.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle 500 ml from La Maladière Centre - Neuchâtel (CH). Dark brown, without foam and crackling. Aromas of roasted malt, cola, sweetness. The taste is soft, thin body, brown sugar, cream, malt, toffy, a bit roasted. Maybe approximate for a mix, vague bitterness of walnut, short spreaging where nothing goes out, no dominant, if not a smooth soft.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep caramel aroma is given of from this one along with some nice toffee notes and plenty of malts. Overall it is a mild smelling beer. There is a nice dark fruits aroma to it as well. An average smelling ale that has nice depth.
Very dark brown colour. It takes an aggressive pour to get any sort of head on this one at all but it manages to form a brownish white, thin bubbly head that recedes to a soapy lacing after about thirty seconds.
Quite similar to the nose with a nice combination of toffee & caramel that is well balanced and enjoyable. This is followed by some nice nutty malts. There is almost no bitterness to this ale either.
A nice creamy, medium body and quite a lot of carbonation & fizz to it. It is rather smooth and as expected there is no taste of alcohol on the palate.
A pleasant surprise here given my initial perception of this one, it is a very solid drink that is quite rich and goes down great. The fact that the alcohol content is low would go unnoticed.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On Tap @ the Royal Oak in Clee Hill, Shropshire. Pours like a cola, black with some froth and bubbles. The nose has a hint of chocolate with some smokiness. The taste has more chocolate and then a nice liquorice note. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a nice fresh finish. Overall, this is really pleasant and tastey for a low alcohol beer.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Thin but dense, creamy light tan head. Very dark mahogany body, almost black. Interesting aroma. Leads with ginger and nutmeg. Grassy hops in the background. Toffee, biscuit, some spiciness, some fruitiness. Finally a whiff of sulphur towards the finish, kola nut and grain. Gentle bitterness. Very soft, creamy mouthfeel. Dusty bitter finish. A little unwelcome oiliness. Interesting, though for its strength, this falls under the "super-premium" price category.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared with Lyoli. Pours semi-clear, red-brown with a modest, light tan head. Sweet, caramel, brown sugar and cake aroma. Pretty nice flavor, a bit sweet with some syrupy, sugary bread, caramel and cheap toffee. Perhaps some prune or raisin or something. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Sugary, malty finish with more caramel, bread and some kind of fruit. Not bad. A little awkward but not bad.
