Bottle. A golden yellow color with a white head. A strong pine aroma with a semi-sweet but extremely bitter bite. A nice hard hitting double IPA.

Maris (1173) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - MAR 9, 2015
From a 355ml can on 9/3/2015. Pours a clearish deep golden with a small head. Has a pleasant nose featuring caramel, toffee and fruity hops. In the mouth, it’s malt forward with more caramel and toffee, along with sweet orange and heaps of honey. The hops have both a dash of grapefruit and resin in them, but this ultimately presents as more a dessert beer than a hop monster. . That said, it’s a damned nice dessert beer with definite barley wine notes. Has a thickish texture and soft carbonation. Hides the 9.7% very well. Quite under-rated on here in my humble opinion.

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a slightly hazy orange color with a large soapy orange-whtie ehad that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was pine, honey, caramel and sweet tropical fruits. The flavor was bitter floral hops, pine, honey, sweet maltiness and tropical fruits. Long pine and tropical finish with a bit of tobacco at the end. Full bodied. Well done.

On tap @ golositalia 2015. Giallo dorata, riflessi ambrati, opalescente. Carbonatazione lieve.

From a 12 oz can shared at home. Pours a clear gold with a thick off white head. Citrus nose. Flavors orange, tropical flowers and a touch of grass. Quite bright and refreshing for a DIPA.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 4 - London. Pours lightly hazy orange with a creamy, off-white head. Nice aroma, some melon, grapefruit and tangerine. Medium sweet flavor with notes of ripe citrus, light warmth, pale malts. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Light pepper kick in the finish, some further ripe orange, pale bready malts, papaya. Good stuff.
