3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(22oz bomber) cloudy/hazy amber with lasting tan bubbles. Nose of medium sweet malt, very light on the hops, and a little caramel. Taste of tangy citrus, caramel, light English hops, finish is quite carbonated and palate cleansing. Went well with mediterranean food.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at brewery. Orange brown pour with dense head to solid lace. Nose is sweet malty and citrus. Taste is big tart malty sweet. Big flavor up front ends quickly to not much mouthful or mouthfeel. Kinda disappointing compared to first flavor.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not bad. Let the bottle warm a bit out of the cooler. Poured aggressively and got a very nice, large, foamy, frothy, fluffy, light tan head lasts quite a while and some lace. Color is a slightly hazy red amber with plenty of bubble trails. Aroma is malt, hop, caramel, spice. Flavor is like aroma, fairly muted, but marked by slightly toasted malt sweetness, carbonic tang and the hop bitterness. Body and carbonation are decent. Finish is like flavor, had a very brief metallic note and a bit of alcohol warmth.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Picked up a bomber bottle at Henry’s in San Diego, CA. Pours a murky reddish-brown with a fluffy off-white head that dissipates. Aroma is big, and full of spicy fruit notes, but with a bit of a biting alcohol edge. I can detect the rubbing alcohol notes mentioned by another reviewer, but to me they seem confined to the initial aroma, and not present as much in the actual flavors while drinking. Body feels medium-light with fizzy carbonation; lots of fruit flavors here, such as lemon and apple, but also a little bit of a coppery metallic taste that lingers. Overall, this is pretty decent, but nothing to write home about.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Whispering Willows Liquor: Created a small patch of bubbles that quickly broke down leaving behind a brownish mahogany liquid. In the nose, there isn’t a whole lot of aroma other than a minimum smell of sticky sweet caramel like the kind you dip an apple into. The flavor is subtle with an out of sync presence of syrupy malts that vaguely suggest caramel and a taste of bitter almost sour hops that don’t sit in balance very well. Aftertaste has a rubbing alcohol flavor that reminds me of a cheap bottle of sake. An affordable price, although, nothing I would buy again.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle from Albertsons in San Diego. Roasted malt aroma with a slight sour/burned rubber smell. Copper/amber color with a nice off-white head. Mildly sweet caramel flavor with some of that mild sour following and a light saltiness. Notes of roasted nuts and dry woodiness with a slightly creamy body. Good earthy hop bitterness to balance the sweetness and this is left behind in the aftertaste. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts here and while not the best red I’ve had, it works pretty well in the end.

22oz bottle from Albertsons of all places. Pours a mostly clear reddish amber with a small off white head. Roasted malts and grassy hops in the nose.
