Deep brown-red murky pour. Aroma is dark fruit, raisin/plum, aged hops, light whiskey and a healthy dose of booze. Flavor is surprisingly smooth compared to the nose. Gentle toasted malt, light caramel and brown sugar, some dark fruit and a mild bourbon/whiskey finish. Nice attenuation, not overly sticky or sweet. Some lingering whiskey. Pretty solid, but a little choppy.

Bottle from Sprouts Eastlake: Liquid appeared as a tea brown hue and was topped by a fizzy head which eventually flat lined. In the aroma my nose picks up on a wide assortment of scents with the first being a thick base of caramel/toffee like malts while a bold smell of sour grape juice and raisins dominate. The flavor is sweet with a sugary taste of caramel while a background of sweet raisins and dark rich plum thrive. This is heavy hitting sweet barley wine but somehow stills falls short of being a home run.

Bottle pours medium brown-orange with thin brief white head. Aroma caramel apples with hint of bourbon. Taste brown sugar, caramel with fruits, some bourbon and a nice hop bite. Palate medium-thick with slight carbonation. Finish a mix of sweetness and hops.

I liked this one, definitely hoppier than the English barleywines but not so muxh as to be overbearing. Just a touch of bourbon.

Expensive as hell waxed 12oz bottle. It pours a nearly clear deep pale copper with thin near white head. The aroma offers up a bouquet of sweet sticky malts, some pine hops and then coconut and then a smooth whiskey sensation. The taste is just solid. I get aged sweet malts and pine hop flavor mixing with a mild level of pine hop bitterness. Those notes slide into smooth rich and candy like sweet whiskey as well as a bit of coconut. Nice stuff here creating a tasty balance between the yummy base beer and the barrel treatment. Kudos for not over barrel aging this like sooooo many other brews out there.
