3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Good head retention. Well I think they got what they were hoping for-a pretty nicely balanced beer with some caramelly sweet nice and bit of resiny citrusy hops to make things interesting. Malt character is ever so slightly dirt-like, which is my only real complaint. Perhaps also a bit sweet.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap @ Marble Santa Fe. Pours a clear, amber orange appearance with an off white head. Toasty caramel, herbal, light floral aroma. Somewhat spicy, a bit piney, tasty caramel malty flavor. A bit chewy. Nice amber ale.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Poured medium amber with a tall, well-retained, creamy off-white head. The aroma picked up toasted nutty notes and caramel with light detergenty accents. The flavor found more interesting caramel and bready malts at the core, lightly toasty.. touches of fruit and herbal bitterness around.. finished with solid balance. Light-medium bodied with higher carbonation on the palate.. fairly good feel and flow.. this wasn’t great, but it grew on me.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a clear amber with a nice pillowy off-white head. Head retention and lacing are excellent.
Aroma is piney hops along with a toffee/toasted maltiness. There is also a touch of spice in the aroma, maybe cinnamon, reminding me of some winter warmers.
The taste has some piny/earthy hops along with a slightly spicy maltiness that reminds me of a rye beer. There is some toasted malt too along with a respectable hop bitterness that remains somewhat restrained in line with the style.
Again I am impressed by Marble Brewery. Every beer I have tried has impressed me and I can’t say enough about this brewery. They definitely fly under the radar but I am very thankful they distribute to TN. I think I heard that their head brewer is a graduate of UT Knoxville which could be the reason their beers are available here.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft @ brewery tap, Santa Fe. It’s amber, with an unspectacular head. Crystal malt. Chewy, nutty. Smells like toasted brown bread. Sweet toffee and caramel flavors. Very sweet, I think too sweet. Could use more aggressive hopping to suit my palate, but the toasty finish is fine.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slightly hazy copper. Fairly caramelly-earthy amber. Boring, bog standard example of the style. Not bad, but couldn’t hold my interest long enough to evaluate it more closely. That’s not good.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear ruby-brown body, thick head. Fresh dry-hopped aroma with woodsy, herbal notes. Taste: sweet chewy malts quickly give way to a dry, hoppy aftertaste. Bitter finish. A unique take on a style that’s often boring. This is similar to Marble’s red ale, but less hoppy and more earthy.
