(Bottle): Pours black, ruby tinge with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, slight coffee. Flavour is very roasty, quite smokey too. Notes of heavily roasted malt, dark chocolate, espresso, slight vanilla and liquorice in the finish. Nice but didn’t wow me.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask. Black with a red tinge. Big fluffy, thick, off-white head. Smell - musty chocolate syrup, yeast, slight smoke. Body is medium, not foamy, carbonation low. Good mouthfeel. Taste - mild chocolate syrup which is stronger up front than in the aftertaste. Noticeably hoppy - seemingly British hops. Hint of spice. Subtle, drinkable porter.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ Deans pale lager tasting, courtesy of jmgreenuk. Gusher!! Pours a black beer with a creamy, beige head on top. Aroma is dark roasted, chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Flavor is very full for such low abv, big on the roasty characters with a big chocolate backbone. Very enjoyable beer for sure!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hearty porter with a big chocolaty aroma. Well carbonated. Hops not much in evidence and a lot of the balance comes from the roasted grains. Good full taste with hints of dark and milk chocolate.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Enjoyed a glass from CasK at the Marble Arch .. . mild chocolate presence, cocoa powder and cooking chocolate .. . light palate .. . overall quite good but rather one dimensional .. . . I think it’s stupid that Pepto Bismol comes with a little disposable shot glass,
but chocolate syrup doesn’t. like, who parties with Pepto?
