Bottle. Smooth looking pitch black beer with a light head. The aroma is lightly roasted with yeasty elements, and the flavour is roasted and bitter with a lack of sweetness. Overall a quite plain bitter and roasted stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark Black with a red tint and a lasting tan creamy head. Smells of soft roast, chocolate and berry. Creamy full oily body. Strong taste of berry, sweet malt with a dry roast finish. Not much chocolate in here. More nutty. Very drinkable and smooth. I really liked it.

Cask. Deep brown with a small tan head. The aroma’s full of roasted malts, some sweet chocolate, leather. The taste is mildly dry and bitter, then gives way to mild espresso and coffee notes. Approachable. The body’s pretty light for the style, the carbonation quite soft. Overall, OK, though a bit underpowered.

On cask at the Marble Arch. Pours a very dark brown colour with a decent, light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and caramel. Similar flavours with choc milk upfront and roasty malt. Nice and bitter with lingering chocolate. Moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Very nice.
