Pours a near-black red, with a thin creamy head. Scent is strong chocolate malt. Its a full-bodied beer, with a deep chocolatey taste and a toasty edge to it and the malt lingers on the tongue. A very hearty beer.

Aroma: Double cream, milky coffee and chocolate ice-cream. Subtle blueberry note, too.

Appearance: Black body with faint ruby highlights. Dense cream head. Light lacing.

Taste: The main flavour is milk chocolate and the supporting flavours are black pepper, ash, butter and cappuccino. Smooth balance and quite sweet.

Palate: Thin to medium body with a luscious, creamy mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.

Overall: A creamy, interesting Porter - Id probably have this again.

Bottle. Dark brown/red with a decent head. Ash and chocolate aroma. Flavour is nicely balanced between milk chocolate and roast. A solid beer.

500 mL bottle, bought at the UK National Winter Ales festival. Black with a fair bubbly head. Nice chocolate and light roast aroma. Dry, roasted malt, just a hint of chocolate. Pretty tasty.

50 cl bottle. BBE 14.06.2013.
Pours dark brown color with a huge, frothy beige head. Aroma is not too sweet with the chocolate, quite dry and fruity actually, some caramel linger on the background, mild hops and some burnt malts also. The flavor is also quite dry and ashy, not the essency and overly sweet chocolate bomb I was expecting, mild fruity notes, the burnt malt and caramel notes are there too. Medium CO2, dry malty palate with a subtle bitter finish. Quite nice actually, a positive surprise.

500ml bottle. Rather an odd one, this. Effervescence on tongue, sweet, unusual taste, , smokey finish.

On cask @ the Marble Arch, Pours opaque black with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has dark chocolate with a hint of cream and perhaps going into coffee. The taste has more of the chocolate and coffee and there is a creamy background. The palate is rich and creamy and is fairly elegant though Id hope it could have refreshed just a little bit more - suspect a second pint would have been too cloying.
