A Mes rate: bottle at home thanks to Rich.
Attractive purple black with a purple tan head. Interesting aroma. Lots of fruit, slight lambic citrus showing through and the base decadence clearly evident. Similar to the Framboise version, this doesn’t work too well. I want it to, I REALLY want it to but it’s just not happening. The cherries feel a little artificial, even though I know they’re not and it all tastes a little burnt and plasticy. I was hoping I would like this more than the Framboise but it’s pretty much the same. The one thing I do really like is the citric lambic character sitting really well alongside the impy blackness of the Decadence. It’s like something I would mix in a glass when I’m half cut and swear it was good but there would be no one there sober enough to confirm it. It works, I know it does, I just can’t say why. Whatever, I’m waffling. Interesting experiment but not in keeping with Dominic’s usual genius.
