Big boozy, sweet chocolate nose with lots of molasses. The taste is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, dark chocolate, molasses and prune juice. Astringent and ashy.

750 ml bottle. My 200th imperial stout rating! Black brown with tan frosting. Nose is chocolate, dark roast and hay with a touch of anise. Smooth medium body with soft sparkling carb. Taste is coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Hints of plum and citrus peel. Refreshing in its balance.

750 ml bottle shared by 12% Brian At 22 Euro, this one is steep! Good thing it is actually good. Pours a nice deep dark brown nearing black with a thin white head- lasting. Aroma is nice fresh roasted barley, nutty earthy slightly ashy dark chocolate, hints of smoke, fruity ester, plum fig, although mostly a clean straight forward ferment, hints of smoke and light phenol and licorice as well. Flavor is toast, biscuit, big roast, chocolate, licorice, light hops, some mint, light pine, grass, herbs, and a good medium caramel sweetness for backbone- bitterness is medium and it finishes not too sweet- yet not dry- just easy drinking. Good fermentation and clean all around. Pretty good. Very straight forward.

More fine work from Marble, a lovely Imperial Stout. Black with a thin tan head. Aroma has more coffee and chocolate than the flavour. Flavour is good but could be a little fuller. Smooth upfront, more coffee in the finish. Tasty.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at Chris & Ruth. huge thanks) A good balanced imperial stout. This was not over burnt or over hoppy or over sweet. The liquorice in aroma and taste cut the roastedness, ash and bitterness nicely. This was a beer of which I could drink the whole 0.75 litre bottle without any problems.

Tap @ 2e BBF. A black colored beer, with a light brown small head. The aroma of dark fruits, with roasted malts some chocolate. The taste of dry bitter chocolate with fruits and roasted malts. The aftertaste is bitter, some dry and a little sweet.
