UPDATED: SEP 27, 2010 Black with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is both roast malt and dried fruit, with a hint of wood and smoke. Semi sweet and very roast flavour, with a bunch of hops, and a slightly burnt finish. Very well balanced and drinkable.

Cask at Borefts Beer Festival 2010: Enough dry hopping to make it borderline Black IPA. Also a 4.1 in this delicious version

Bottle @ the RBESG08 Grand Tasting.
Pours deep black with a small, creamy, dark-beige head. Aroma is sweet, vinious and good roasted. Low carbonation, nice creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is good, though a bit one-sided, some yeast, roasted malts, dark chocolate. Feels a bit sharp and unbalanced overall - still good though.

Pitch black with large light brown head. Sweet aroma with notes of roasted malt, hops, coffee and liquerice. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, hops, coffee and liquerice notes. Good complexity and well blanced. Hoppy for a british Stout. Nice.

It’s pitch black with a nice, huge and creamy head. the aroma has notes of roasted malt, licorice and citrussy aroma hops. The flavour has a nice, roasted bitterness, notes of roasted malt, licorice, light citrus, bitter coffee and a very long, and nice finish. Really nice!

Bottle… Thinkin’ ‘Bout Thirteen Hours O’ Drinkin’ (tew man wrecking crew)This beer rocks!… Midnight black ale with a frothy, brown head. Excellent retention. Fruity, chocolaty aroma. Notes of blueberry or blackberry. Medium to full-bodied with a 2%-milk mouthfeel. Bitter, burnt and acidic. Charcoal and tart berries. Mostly burnt and bitter finish with plenty of tartness thrown in. Huge THANKS to Magic_dave6 for shipping this beauty across the pond!

Bottle. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of roast chocolate malt, cocoa, vanilla, dark fruits, slight sherry oxidation and coffee roast. Touch of molasses. Medium body. Well balanced. Subtle oxidation actually plays well with this.

330mL. Poured a deep black to near ink with a thinner, tan, coffee head. Nose is savory, salty, black olive, fatty meat. Taste is dirty, bitter, ashy chalky, tea astringent. Lighter mouthfeel. It sounds bad, but I actually enjoyed this one. Very evident hoppy bitterness, earthy, pretty clean. No olive, brine, or saltiness.
