Pour out of 22 oz bottle, dark orange red with thin lasting off white head, pretty hazy. Aroma brought notes of big juicy citrus with orange, grapefruit, some lemon, hints of pine, grass, slight caramel, touch of dank in there as well, nice smelling. Taste is a mix of sweet orange marmalade, grapefruit, lemon, nice orange peel as well, some spice, grass in there goes into some nice caramel, toffee, finishing bitter, a bit more hops. Tasty, nothing crazy, but well executed. A little syrupy on the mouthfeel but not bad.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, orange amber pour with thin but lasting white head, aroma has notes of aged earth, caramel, hints of sweet candied orange, pineapple, resinous pine, slight grapefruit notes as well. Taste is orange peel grapefruit, big pineapple, slight mango, hints of aged hops with some caramel, toffee, biscuit, hints of pine and resinous notes, finishing fairly bitter with some sweet notes. At this point more of a barleywine, but wish I could have had it fresh it tastes like it was very good.

Arrives from the tap with a pale tan colored head. The beer is a light amber hue that is jsut a touch darker than the Iron Horse (I think). The aroma has a solid citrus character, as well as a dank herbal character and pine notes as well. The beer has a peppery, almost woody character to it as it warms up.

Ample citrus hop flavors as well as a dirty, almost skunky hop note that adds some bite to the hop character. The beer is medium’ish bodied, though not overly heavy and it has a light enough carbonation that provides just enoug of a prickly texture. The finish lingers into a fair amoutn of bitterness as well as a peppery, herbal character that has a bit of rosemary and menthol character, definitely resinous.

A nice Double IPA, not quite as good as the Iron Horse, but once my palate adjusts back from that, this beer comes into its own with its juicy hop character. This is definitely a bit more resinous and dank, which is a nice enough contrast when you are looking for that sort of thing.

Picked this up while in vacation in Santa Fe at the Marble brewpub. Awesome IIPA! One of the best out there. Wish they distributed to OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Huge pungent hop nose on this one. I'm getting wild flowers, guava and grapefruit. Nice golden hue with sexy leg-like lacing. Flavor is citrusy flowery up front and then turns slightly bready. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2011 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a thick white head. Aroma is a bit odd -- lots of grassy hops, kinda smells like onion grass mixed with a sweaty gym bag. It gets better once you get used to the oddness. Flavor is pretty similar with the same onion grass/sweat qualities, plus some hop resins and a solid caramel malt base. Bitter finish. Took a little while to warm up to but by the end it was quite enjoyable. Great IIPA! 7/4/8/4/15 [3.8/5]

Update 7/30/2011: Had on tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange red with a thick white head. Aroma of lots of sweaty, piney, and grassy hops. Flavor of lots of caramel malts, bitter hops, and some sweaty hops. Solid malt backbone, overall the beer is fairly malty. Hmm, looks like my ratings from both tap and bottle are nearly identical! 8/4/8/4/14 [3.8/5]

First New Mexico brew, and it’s a good one. 22 oz. bottle from erway- thanks again, Jeff! Pours a clear copper color with a big, frothy off-white head that leaves plenty of soapy lacing in the glass. Aroma of herbal hops, pine, caramel malts, grapefruit citrus, and some floral notes. Flavor of pine resin, floral and herbal hops, tea, caramel malts, and grapefruit. Light-medium bodied, with sharp carbonation and a leafy, malty mouthfeel and bitter aftertaste. Very nice DIPA!

tap a few times and a few bottles as well-composite rating over the past few months. copper/orange hue with a nice froathy white head. floral, citrus, tropical nose-in the bottles its a bit more piney i noticed. i had it once on tap at the santa fe location and it was way more floral. Then, this sample i had at the brewpub was a bit more harsh/dirty hops. the tap version i had at the brewery seemed a bit off from the samples i have had before-the finish didnt come together very well-really maltless and had lack of depth whereas the balance was a bit better on the bottle and the tap from santa fe back around new years. A decent DIPA that seems to change from place to place. However, for NM, this is the best we have!

Bomber dated 10-06-10. Hazy, burnt orange with a lasting cap of cream. Nose of orange blossom honey, fresh grain, and juicy citrus. Light-medium body is a bit too watery, but smoothly carbonated and well-dried by the hops. Flavor is resin, grapefruit, Honey-nut Cheerios, and some oak in the long finish.
