3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 MacMoney (792) - Alabama, USA - JAN 26, 2013
Cask @ Gallows Bird RAF 2013. Pours golden orange with a yellowish-brown head. Aroma has a lot of berries, mostly tart gooseberries and blackcurrant as well as leaves of said berry bushes. Light passionfruit and carambola. Taste has the same berries strongly. Like hitting a berry bush. Gooseberries and blackcurrant again, leaves of the latter too. Turns dry and bitter on the finish. Palate is medium. Unfortunately as the beer warms up you can start detecting diacetyl in there. Probably starting to go bad or something, the cask. Somewhat wooden flavor as well. Scored cold.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 RexTalionis (1531) - FINLAND - JAN 25, 2013
Cask at Gallow’s Bird real ale festival. Pale amber in color with thin off-white head. Butterscotch and faint hints of grassy hops in aroma, light piney notes too. Flavor is at first quite strobgly dominated by the grassy hops but has got some tropical fruitiness as well. Fresh cut grass in finish. Smooth and pleasant to drink.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 worldbeertaste (1133) - Lancashire, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2013
Cloudy dark gold with a thick, sticky, hugging lacy , lastising huge frothy head. Smells of Mellon and hops of all kinds - citrus, flowers and fruit. Tastes of hops is the most overwhelming element. Pine, citrus, grass,, fruit - peach and a dry finish. This is a powerful IPA that is slower to drink than others as it packs a serious punch of hops. Amazing but slightly overwhelming.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival ’13) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had fruitiness, butter and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, butter, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, buttery and bitter. The diacetyl was confusing but somehow it did fit in.

Pours clear copper orange with a large foamy head. Aroma of citrusy hops, malts, caramel and hints of fruits. Taste is fruity and hoppy with a lot of carbonation, hints of citrus and biscuity malts. Finish is quite thin bodied, fruity and malty with some citrusy hoppy notes. Okay, but a bit too carbonated and thin bodied IPA.
