Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Pours super fizzy, with a mahoosive white froth heed. Smells pretty good, so let’s have a swig. Very good - drying hops, which previously fill the mouth with fruity, bitterness. To me, this is a really nice British IPA, which blends US flavours with those from our isles. Very refreshing, fills the mouth with taste and offers great burps.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe, King’s Lynn
Hazy amber color, with huge head. Nice hop aroma, fruity, pungent (Nelson Sauvin?). It has a high carbonation; correct body structure; some malt and toffee flavor, ending in caramel, with strong hopping; the hop carries some resins and fruits, citrus fruits and passion fruit, but not as much as the aroma suggests; quite strong bitterness, and long final.
It has the solidity of a classic English IPA, and some freshness from modernly hopped IPAs. Very good.

Cask. Nice amber color with a sustainable head. Citrus fruits, pine in the aroma. Taste: Citrus fruits, hop oils, and a really bitter finish. One of my ten favorite beers!

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Alice. Pours a cloudy golden with a white head. Fruity, citrusy nose with a little yeast. Light body, excessive carbonation. Again slightly citrusy with a bitter finish. Not that sophisticated, and the excessive carbonation kinda ruins it. 030812

Strong APA aroma, although much less so in its flavour. Has a heavy texture but this doesn’t negate the ale.

Bottle from MyBrewerytap.com. Pours hazy golden with a huge creamy off-white head. Aroma of oranges and piney hops. Taste is smooth and fruity oranges, good bitterness, not overdoing it, dry and fruity bitter end, good one.

500 ml bottle.
Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a thick white head. Aroma of dried fruits, peach, pepper and lemon. Flavour of caramel, bitter hops, peach, yeast and mellow caramel. Medium bodied, dry mouthfeel and a dry, fruity, lingering bitter finish. Surprising for an IPA from England as this pretty much an American-style IPA and actually a good one.

Bottle at the Soup Kitchen in Manchester. Had this local IPA on and off for several years but hadn’t drunk it in a while. Not very hoppy at all; in fact it has a surprisingly sweet finish. It’s funny - I remembered this having a distinctive apple tartness and bitterness to it. Either it’s changed or my taste has shifted due to drinking more bold, hop-forward American-style IPAs. Still a pleasant drink. Was served very, very cold which seemed to suit it.

Cask at marble beerhouse, chorlton. Orange gold with thin head. Tropical fruit aroma, mainly grapefruit and kiwi. Taste same plus malt, peach, alcohol. Quite well balanced but could stand to be a bit more bitter.
