I haven’t done any ratings for a while but i thought i’d come out of retirement for this one....What an amazing beer! Sat drinking this outside 57 Thomas st in the sun yesterday...the plan was to make the trek to Manchester for an American beer festival, after tasting Dobber though I didn’t even bother, just kept drinking it and then went home...I knew I’d only be disappointed if I drank something else!

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden brown and a large foamy head, big hoppy nose with grapefruit, mango and orange peel. Lively carbonation leading to a grapefruit bitter finish. Nothing too complex, but a solid refreshing IPA.

Bottle. Unusual tea-like amber with a large white head that laces extravagantly. Aroma of grapefruit, mango, lychees, passionfruit, caramelising raw sugar. Lots of grapefruit, tropical fruit sweetness is a little sickly, a little butter, bitterness is piercing but not huge. A little peppery at the end, too. A real tingly blast of hops all right, but the rest just didn’t quite do it for me.

Cask at Inn Deep. A clear gold with billowy head. Aroma fruity, was that some marshmallow in there? Taste a zesty zingyness with a spicy tingle. Nice one!

On tap at Euston Tap. Grapefruit body with thin head. Citrus nose. Taste of citrus, hops, wheat. Crisp, bitter finish.

Dense orange body, trickle of white dissipating head. Firm mango and passionfruit nose. Initially peppery bitterness with a subtle trickle of carbonation keeping a fresh fruit linger on every sip. Big thick dollops of rich passionfruit, guavay sweetness rolls around in a resinous palate which manages to coax an uncompromised dry finish retaining the initial bitter tingle. Superb. Bottle.

Keg at the Bat. Orange amber, slight hop haze. Big fluffy white head. Big sticky resinous hops, mango, pineapple, slight grapefruit on the nose. Just a hint of honey too. Big juicy sweetness up front, pineapple and mango and then an absolute powerhouse of resin and bitterness - not harsh or soapy, but seriously assertive. Long bitter linger with a slight warmth. Spot on prickly carbonation. Superb stuff, tastes like a fresh US DIPA but only 6%. Yum.

Bottle from Bernie’s Real Ale Off License, Solihull. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin white long lasting head and broken lace. The aroma is pure hops leading to a medium bitter hoppy flavour with a little dry spice on the palate and a nice refreshing bitterness in the aftertaste. This is very drinkable IPA that gets things just right!

pours hazy mid amber with mango and melon on the nose. Slightly soapy hop flavour, gentle bitterness. Perfect carbonation.

Keg @ 57 Thomas street. Poured with no head whatsoever. Minimal aroma. Quite sweet and syrupy in the mouth and fairly highly carbonated, despite lack of head. Some bitterness to the finish but the sweetness masked it somewhat. Was hoping for better.

Keg; cloudy, orangey colour, darker at the top, much lighter at the bottom (why would this be?); huge frothy white head; aromatic tropical fruit nose; very hoppy, orangey flavour; creamy, bitter finish; second Marble brew today and they clearly do the big hop thing very well - I think I just about preferred the Draft I had a couple of beers ago, but this is still very good.
