This Belgian-style pale wheat ale is fragrant, dry and a touch tart. We brew it with coriander and orange and lemon peel to give it a distinct and delicious flavor.

Nutty, citrus, slight herbal quality. Thick creamy head. Cloudy, tangerine appearance. Spicy on the palate, warm to swallow. Slightly bitter citrus peel flavors. It’s fine for the style, I suppose. Not a spicy beer fan. The peppery burp makes my eyes water.

Beer #52 of NM 100. Sweet, unfortunately. But nicely yeasty. Sufficiently dry.

Tap@Brewery: Tastes like Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy even though it has no lemonade in it. Overall, not my style of beer.

Draft served in a flight at Ground Control. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a finger of soft, bone white head. Aroma of soap, wheat, coriander, florals, lemon, and bread. The flavor is the same. Really malty and doughy. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Worked well for me.

On draft at the Marble Brewery Tap Room on Santa Fe. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a white head. Lemon and coriander nose and flavor. Crisp clean finish.

Making it a double was the right move. It basically blows other witbiers out of the water when you do that. Lots of coriander, lemon and citrus in the nose and taste with a nice finish...graupel...not quite hail, ice pellets or snow...

Hazy, white-sheened, straw like color that is topped by a thin pale head. Lots of orange zest, with an earthy, citrusy coriander character as well, and it has a solid floral character to it. Backing notes of chewy wheat and sweet cracker like notes, with perhaps a touch of straw like character is noticeable here.

Light, but with a chewy grain / malt body to it, the beer is quaffable like something with Wit in the name should be. Lots of citrus flavors here, though not as much as in the aroma, the coriander seems to take a bigger role in the flavor, with a more earthy, citursy bent than is in the nose. Straw like grain character, chewy ripe wheat grain flavors, and just a chewy rustic white bread like character. There is a touch of tartness here that couples well with the carbonic acid.

A solid Double Wit.

From a bottle. Smells like orange and lemon peel. Thick body. Tastes like wheat and citrus. Very low carbonation.
