4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Usually the idea of an "Imperial Red" has me scrollin’ past pretty hard, thankfully for me though Mr. Ketchepillar brought me this diamond in the rough.
The aroma is very hoppy and appealing, mainly it’s focused around hops including lots of grapefruit and a good bit of pine. Not really sweet or terribly malty smelling, but pungent and inviting.
The flavor is pretty high on bitterness with a nice touch of toasty malt. The beer is not overly sweet and is light on the caramel/toffee notes that usually ruin a beer like this. The alcohol is mild but noticeable, and the hops are really the feature here. Primarily, like in the aroma the feature is the big grapefruit-y hop character with some lighter piney notes.
This totally works better as a Double IPA than many that claim to be of the Double IPA style. A very enjoyable beer.

it has a strong citrus and hop flavor, which is one of the main reasons I didn’t rate this beer hire. It has a strong floral and fruity smell. It poors a dark reddish/brown color

Great beer with an amazing aroma that I detect strong fruity smell, floral, stone fruit. When you take a sip you immediately get the resin, citrus, grapefruit. Very nice beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ap - 4 - This is a reddish brown clear beer that has an off white head that leave nice lacing.
Ar - 8 - Nice caramel malts balanced by piney, citrusy hops. Very sweet smelling. Great Imperial Red aroma. Reminds me of G’Knight.
T - 9 - Oh man, this one is good. The citrusy, orange zest, grapefruit hops start, with nice sweet caramel malt in the middle and piney, citrusy, bitter grapefruit on the back of the tongue at the finish.
M - 4 - Medium-heavy, full bodied. Alc covered well. Aftertaste is bitter grapefruit and sweet malt.
O - 17/20 - What can I say, this is a great beer. It’s about the same price/oz as OB G’knight, and honestly, I’d have to have them side by side to figure out the subtle differences between the two. Great imperial red. I’m glad I had it.

Outstanding! Just a pleasure from beginning to end. Gorgeous amber/red color with cobwebby lacing. The nose is rich and malty with a nice resinous and floral hop scent. The flavor is massive. Bitter right up front but quickly turns into velvet...almost buttery. Then the hops take over at the end. Easily one of the best beers I've had in a while. I'd come to Albuquerque just to drink this again. Good thing Marble fills growlers from other breweries.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery, extreme hoppy version of an American Red Ale. The 9% ABV is balanced and carried deftly throughout the swallow, ending with a huge drying, crisp finish. Once again Marble underscores its reputation as a "hop house" with this imperial red.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clearish dark amber with a generously foamy off-beige head. The nose is exactly all that I am looking for in a double red: loads of caramel, loads of floral hops, resin, and grapefruit zest juiciness. The flavor is nice and malty with a strong malt-booze backbone. There’s a rush of caramel and grapefruit rind & zest right off the bat, which blends into a floral and piney resin tone, with a semi-sweet citrus sweetness that’s also a touch peachy and bready. Very big bodied, with a lot of stickiness in both hop and malt tones. It’s very well done, but it’s basically the same as Oskar Blues G’knight, so I’m giving it the exact same scoring. And G’knight is cheaper and in 12oz cans...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Really good with a strong thick aroma and taste. Aroma is nice and malty with a certain thickness to it...there is some good hop character as well. The taste is malty, caramel, sweet and rich with some faint hop character. It finishes similar to a thicker brew: rich, smooth, creamy, slight bitterness. It’s quite enjoyable...Let’s get that game face on...this is what we play for!
