Large tan head, lasting, good lace. Black ass pour. Grainy nose backed with light smoke, roast and dark fruits. FULL bodied, chewy, soft carbonation with a sticky, coating palate. Dark chocolate flavors, caramels, some woody tannins, coffee left on all day and some tobacco notes. Fairly rich.Dry finish, roast beans. Props to Kevin for the bomber!

Bomber from Belmont. Pours a pitch black color with a small beige head. A big sweet roast nose. Cocoa, lactose, licorice, dry heavy roast is dominant. Dark fruit and some ash. Very big, very good. Reminds me a bit of a Scandinavian stout, more on the drier side compared to many impys. Nice.

1st Sunday. This one kind of caught me off guard. Rich chocolate, roast, some ripe fruits. Thick, full bodied stout goodness here.

Tap at brewery april 20014
Pours black with a fizzy tan head and sparse lacing. Nose is roasty char and light molasses. Some woody notes as well. Almost seems barrel aged but I know it is not. Flavors of huge roast char and firm bitterness. Long roasty and char burnt notes long into tbe finish. A solid straight forward massive impy stout that is pretty relentless. Solid offering from a solid brewery.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow. This is a massive massive beer. Rich and complex. Heavy and assertive. I'm hit immediately roasted coffee and dark chocolate...maybe a bit of soy sauce? The taste? Holy hell! Gigantic. Really boozy but balanced well with sharp hops. The mouthfeel is almost syrupy...which I like. And after a good burp, it's all chocolate. I'm impressed.

22oz bottle .. . fantasy, do not attempt .. . deep brown almost black .. . mild head, medium lacing .. . some tar, charcoal, and licorice breath .. . a nice imperial stout, doesn’t feel imperial, but nothing that really stands out either .. . . what did the 5 fingers say to the face?
