Had on cask. Quite fruity--both in sweetness and in hop bitterness. I do prefer American style IPA’s for their bold hoppiness, but this is quite a fine example of the way an English IPA should be.

After being very ordinary in its inception this beer has undergone several 'trial' versions but have they finally got it correct? Oh yes. This is a perfectly balanced refreshing IPA. Lots of pineapple and grapefruit in both taste and aroma. Enough sweetness to offset the strong hop bitterness. Great beer.

Clear copper body, white head. Aroma of bready malt, fruity soap, caramel. Flavour has smooth grainy and toasty malt, sweetness, but bit flat. Nice though.

Cask at The Old Fountain, 22/6/12. Unfined; pretty hazy. Ultrafine sediment causes it to form a hazy cloud of very fine bubbles when disturbed. Golden orange. Sparse head. Faint floral-sweet aroma, with some tropical character. Taste is sweet, grape, grassy, floral and a touch of lychee. Quite a creamy texture; not very tangy or astringent for an IPA of this sort. Also some good, complex spicy hop tastes.

Peachy aroma. Deep yellow with a thin creamy white head. Slightly hazy.
Slightly sweet with peaces, mango, and cirtus. Hop level gives excellent balance.

Style note: this is not a bitter, its an ipa or hoppy gold/blonde. Misclassified here. Moving on... cask at marble beerhouse in chorlton. Light gold with very thin white head. Aroma orange, peach, caramel. Taste is full of fruity citrussy hops... orange, sour peach, guava. Also grassy and there’s some malt in there (but not a lot cuz its not a bitter!). I’d say Marble’s Spring beats this in the same style, but Lagonda is still excellent.

Bottle. Dark golden beer with a light but reasonable head. The aroma is very bitter and hopped, and the flavour is also very bitter and florally hopped. Overall a reasonable well hopped beer.

Cask. Bright golden color with a small white head. Nose is pine, flowers, a nice walk through the country side. Some bright lemon. The taste is more cut grass, aromatic sweetness. Great standard citrus IPA notes. Bitter finish. One indeed for hop fans. Light/medium body. Overall, pleasing IPA!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle. Hazy yellow to orange with small frothy lasting white head. Fruity and bitter hop aroma, citrus and orange, some grass. Taste is a bit watery in the beginning, dry, bitter, some citrus, not completely harmonically integrated. Grassy finish. Not bad, but not cutting edge.
