Bottle. What a boring name for an excellent beer.Golden and hoppy with a small head and slightly dry finnish.Low carbonation and excellently bottled. I am not a great bitter fan but this is a top grade beer no matter how you look at it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Marble Arch. Pours golden with a thin but attractive head and a decent level of carbonation. The nose is clean and hoppy - going down the lemon to grapefruit line. The taste has more of the same with some pale malt in the background. The palate is very balanced - medium in body and texture with a clean but not overly bitter finish. Overall, very drinkable indeed.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask in the Southampton Arms. Yes, this is a Manchester bitter, I can hear my dad wittering on about how Bods used to have a really good smack to it (but that was in the 60s/70s, a bit more than 20 years ago). And here we have a pale golden bitter, austere malty dryness, bitter hop finish, supremely moreish and drinkable. Local bias perhaps but this stuff is awesome.

Bottle. Floral citrus nose. Well balanced bitterness, big grapefruit flavours. Feels a little like a wheat beer in the mouth. Will be buying more.
