4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
[cask at the Marble Arch, Manchester] Golden amber bitter with a nice white head. Aroma of sweet, syrupy figs and sharper lemony fruit. Nice dose of semi-sweet caramel on the flavour, before the citrus fruit arrives. Aftertaste is dry, earthy and bitter. Love the balance between the malt and hop in this one – the blend of the biscuity dryness and the citrus. It’s a fantastic bitter – one of the best I’ve had for a long time. Drank on the way to IMBC12, to be honest, it knocked spots off anything I tried there

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask handpull, The Marble Arch Inn, Manchester, 22/09/12. Copper draped with white. Lemon zest, deep earthy malts, leafiness, boozy fizzing pineapple and perfumed aroma. Taste of berries, tropical fruit, hints of mineral sour, digestive biscuits. Busy, flavoursome bitter.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
A new, revamped version of their discontinued N/4. Cask. Golden, white head. Fruity, oily nose. Taste is pulpy citrus fruits, lemon zest, piney hops. Good malt backbone. Smooth, oily mouthfeel. Really hoppy for a bitter.
