3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
two days without going to work, plenty of food, and it’s cold outside. so, i have not gone outside in 2 days, and won’t until i walk to work tomorrow at 3 pm. apparently it is possible to have too much caffeine as i look at my hands shaking as i type this, but coffee is delicious. so is this beer. pairs well with the jambalaya i cooked up last night and still pairs well when i have it with breakfast. mild nose with a hint of bacon in the roast. porkyness comes into the flavor also, and this is very much appreciated. touch of lactic with the light roast and a mild nuttiness. well reigned in bitterness that alllows the malt to shine. lingering tootsie roll type chocolate flavor. been keeping a 6 pack on hand since middle of december and will continue to until i finish off the piss poor porter a brewed recently. this is a great starter beer with my abomination being the ender when i just want to add alcohol to my psyche.

12oz bottle c/o Elise. Deep, thick brown-black body. Steady, creamy beige head. Mellow, doughy brown chocolate aroma, a hint of coffee. A pretty solid Stout, rich mouthfeel. A touch of a charred, oily character to it, but overall sweet and creamy. An enjoyable beer,

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Btl pours dark brown, almost black color with a thick creamy tan head. It lingers for a while leaving nice lacing on glass. Smells of cocoa, roasted malt, cappuccino and toffee.Tastes almost the same, chocolate, toffee, toasted malt, coffee and earthy hops. Medium body, creamy slick texture, soft carbonation and a smooth slightly bitter finish. A perfectly balanced, fantastic stout that is robust and full of flavor. It is so creamy and tasty I could drink this every day!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2013 On tap at the brewry, pours coffee-black color, rich sweet, coffee, chocolate roasted malt aroma, full-bodied coffee, chocolate, raisinette palate, head and lace dissipate quickly, loosely structured finish. Unfortunately, the carbonation was too high and took on the character of a black lager rather than a stout.
