Dark brown/black and opaque with a thin quickly diminishing head. Dark malty coffee aroma. Taste is similar, but the oatmeal is more noticeable. Moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Creamy palate.

Black pour with a thin light khaki hues head. Lovely aroma of sweet creamy dark chocolate, a tiny bit of espresso, and a touch of caramel. The flavor has a more pronounced espresso flavor but not as sharp or bitter as actual espresso, with some bitter dark chocolate tones, on top of a creamy mouthfeel. A bit simple yet somehow nicely nuanced and exceptional. A wee bit of tobacco hits the aftertaste once the beer warms up, which is a slight deterrent.

Pours dark but relatively clear and with minimal beige head. Smells of sweet malts with a bit of fruit and coffee. Flavor is a bit thin for an oatmeal stout. Coffee and chocolate that is a bit bitter. Drinkable, but I wish the flavor and body were a bit more robust.

Bottle @ home picked up in Fort Collins. Pours a deep brown appearance with a creamy dark brown head that has awesome head retention. A bit spicy, dark chocolate, quite roasty malty flavor. Mildly bitter, piney/spicy hoppy, big cocoa, deep dark chocolate malty, slightly burnt flavor. Fucking delicious stuff.

Draft at the source. Almost opaque brown, brown head. Aroma of chocolate and brown bread. Taste is smooth milk chocolate on pumpernickel bread. Great body.

Bottled. Poured deep brown with a very short-lived, odd-looking, garnet-tinted dark brown head. The aroma picked up sweet, moderately-roasted black malts, chocolate, and rich vanilla bean right on the back.. came across sweet, but not very lively. The flavor found sweet, roasted chocolates, toasted oats, and lesser dark fruit.. a touch of malt-inspired bitterness around.. some vanilla kicked in toward the finish.. tasty, but a bit too sweet. Medium-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. smooth across the middle.. tasty, but again too sweet.
