Wow! Great hoppyness right away on the nose. I also get caramel and almost a spice of some sort. Perfect carbonation for me, medium. Marble does it once again!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewpub. This is a great flagship beer and possibly one of the best red ales I’ve had (NM knows how to make red ales!). Pours a cloudy dark red/brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of tons of sweaty hops, also grassy and piney hops. Flavor is super hoppy with lots of sweat and hop resins. I could drink this all day. Between this and the IPA, that is enough to keep me coming back to Marble.

Bottle. Nice color. Hoppier than I would expect from a red ale, which for me is a positive. Great beer. Pour me another.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy mahogany with sturdy tan head. The aroma is pine, grapefruit and caramel; honestly a little hoppier than I was expecting. The flavor is piny and woody hops with lots of toast and caramel behind it. Pleasantly bitter, but seems a little bit tannic. Bitterness lingers into aftertaste for quite a while. Not too shabby.

Really great aroma right out of the bottle. Nice head and beautiful red color. The hops hit you right upfront and keep you coming back for more.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle from grownfool- thanks again, Brian! Pours a clear mahogany color with a finger-thick, rocky, beige head with some lacing and unevenly sized bubbles. Aroma of caramel malts, leafy hops, citrus peel, cream, toasted sugars, and earth. Flavor of grapefruit citrus, caramel malts, leafy hops, toast, cereal, grass, nuts, and paper. Light-medium bodied, with a citrusy mouthfeel and dry finish. Moderate-medium carbonation. There’s a lot to this for an amber ale. Very good.

A dark copper color with beige head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, citrus, and biscuit. Flavor is well balanced with some dark fruit, caramel, oats. Aftertaste is rather bitter. This how all ambers should be.
