2103 release on draught at the brewpub. Pours a dense brown color with a fading tan head. Big body and bold aromas. Big bourbon flavor matched to a brown sugerl-ike sweetness and an oak character. Solid hop bitterness paired to a slightly sweet maltiness. Overall, it works well. Probably improve with age. Very nice!

22oz bomber from Elise. Aged the better part of a year. Wow. This is pretty phenomenal. Ruby amber-brown body, unfiltered. Foamy glass lacing beige head. Bourbon-vanilla aroma. Quite reminiscent of the Bourbon Barrel Barleywine from Goose Island in some respects. Has enough Barleywine characteristics that I’d be happy to categorize it as that. Chewy caramel woody bourbon candy tones. Solid.

Poured an amber color with aromas of caramel and booze. Flavors are booze, caramel and off putting cardboard. Shucks that this started out so nice and ended so horribly.

"2011 I think. Right out of the fridge and bottle, the aroma needed time to warm up, but when it did - this beer was pretty damn good. Big, rich, warming. Sweet leaning from both the barrels and the malty backbone, though the hops were adequate as well. Leaning towards barleywine in style, but an american strong for whatever reason. Toffee, caramel, hops, vanilla and bourbon on the nose and tongue. I’d get this again

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a ruddy brown color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving a light foamy trickling lacing.
The smell had a deep caramel maltiness combining with a decent boozy vanilla and offering a delicate chocolate and coffee.
The taste had a deep sweet boozy hotness allowing the chocolate, coffee and vanilla to combine and intermingle with the booze.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fair sessionable aspect about it. The carbonation was good for the style as it was fairly harsh but not too much. Light boozy vanilla rolls over my tongue to the finish.
Overall, wow, what a really nice offering from a Brewer I don’t know much about just yet. I definitely would have this again.

Growler thanks to Ilya! Pours a clear amber with a slight brown hue and an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of vanilla and bourbon with sweet grains and a bread backbone. Flavor starts with grain and as light bitterness/booze with growing vanilla and bourbon.

Dark murky brown pour with small tan head. Aroma of bourbon, caramel and vanilla. Taste of big time bourbon, caramel, toffee, vanilla and slightly fruity. Tasty beer but I am under the assumption that BA beers should be complimenting the beer, not overtaking the flavor profile. Way to hot! Full bodied, syrupy mouthfeel, long bourbon finish, lower carbonation. Aging this might mellow it down a bit. I’m not waiting.

Meh. Strong and malty sweet like a barley wine. Not my style. Has toffee and caramel tones to it. Sticky mouth feel. BA is in aroma.

Tap @ Brewery. Pours black with a thin head and lace. Sweet wood, vanilla, caramel and toffee in the aroma. All of that on the palate. Deep, full-body, nicely balanced and a hefty mouthfeel. Overall, a good example of the bourbon barrel aged beer category.

Wooowee. Boozy. This really caught the character from sitting in that bourbon barrel. Caramel and bourbon on the nose and a deep copper color, almost hazy, invite you into the rich complexion that is this year's reserve. Wow. And wow again. So much vanilla. Maybe a little butterscotch. And bourbon. Plenty of bourbon. I truly cannot believe this is only 9.0%. Halfway through a sampler and I might be drunk. Marble...you've definitely captured my attention.

Aged 1.75 years. Hazy light cola, almost a dark copper, under a wee foamy off-white head. The nose is sweet with nice tones of caramel, bourbon and oak, a bit of brown sugar and earthy booze esters. Flavor is hot and woodsy with an earthy sweetness of bitter-ish plum and caramel, bourbon, with a big bourbon and oak finish. A bit more hot than it needs to be. But plenty sweet and complex.
