Bottle: Pours a clear medium dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma has vanilla and noticeable bourbon notes. The taste is dark fruit, raisin with vanilla and toffee. There is a little heat from the alcohol but it isn’t too bad. I expected this to hav ea heavier mouth feel but it’s a medium weight that still coats well. This is a nice beer overall and one that deserves a Reserve name. Nice work Marble and thanks to my friend Lenny for the bottle.

This is a really nice beer and a total surprise. Pours dark reddish brown with beige head, fades quick and leave no lacing. Taste is sweet with oak, vanilla, caramel. Palate is a bit thinner than I expected but still nice. A damn fine beer and it makes me want to find more from these guys.

Pours a deep dark red with average beige head. Woody aroma with a very subtle note of vanilla. Mildly sweet with strong flavors of bourbon and a bit of vanilla. Alcohol definitely present. Full bodied with a biting finish with lingering vanilla. Damn good.

Bottle. Pours a nice dark amber color with a beige head. Aroma is of oak, vanilla, and lots of raisins, some other dark fruits, caramel, toffee and is fairly malty. Flavor is again of oak and vanilla, and again dominated by raisins and caramel, some dark fruit, toffee and toasted malt flavors. The body is on the full side of medium with a silky smooth mouth feel. Really tasty brew, but not as good as their BA Imperial Stout.

The pour is amber in color with a small off-white head. Has a pretty nice nose on it. Good bourbon and vanilla with plenty of oak and brown sugar. A nice caramel sweetness to go with some hints of dark fruit. The flavor is nice, but not quite as much so as the aroma. A bit thin with brown sugar, toffee, and dark fruit notes. Some bourbon and vanilla, but not the same level of intensity as the nose had.

2012. On tap at the brewery. This thing is big and bourbon-y. Lots of maple and vanilla. Very rich.

Bomber at a tasting. Clear amber-brown color with a small off-white head. Caramel and toffee aroma well-balanced with oak and bourbon. Sweet but not too much so and rather tasty. Caramel, toffee, oak, and bourbon. A bit thin, which is sort of a good thing, with average carbonation. A pretty enjoyable -bal aged beer.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2012 Big thanks to Drew for sharing this bottle. Served in a SAVOR wine glass. Pours brown with a nice tan head. Average lacing and a bit of a collar on the way down. The nose carries caramel with some bourbon and oak notes in the background. The flavor focuses on the oak bourbon barrel character, and also presents a touch of vanilla. Average duration of the flavor through the finish with some slight sweetness and a relatively-full, creamy mouthfeel. Well done.

Bottle from a trade with ketchepillar. Pours dark reddish brown color with tan head. Aromas of toffee, vanilla, wood and Bourbon. Sweet caramel and vanilla flavors with Bourbon and some woodiness. The Bourbon adds a nice flavor and is not too overpoweing. Medium to full body with soft carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. Thanks Sam.

I had this on draft at the Blues and Brews fest 2011, and it may possibly have been the best ale I have ever tasted. I managed to get a bottle version recently, and while not as good as that draft, it’s still a great ale. Deep color, not much head. Fantastic aroma, almost overpowering. A very sweet start that quickly fades to a dryness, without being bitter at all. Well done.

bottle from baker at dak’s on 7/29/10. bright coppery red color with an off white head. big vanilla and bourbon notes on the nose... mixed in with toast, roasted nuttiness, caramel, barrel and bourbon spiciness and some green hoppiness. the flavor is more of the same... bourbon and hoppy spiciness, caramel burnt around the edges, green hops, vanilla and some alcohol on the finish as it warms. medium bodied. bitter yet slick and yummy. 8/4/8/4/16+
