3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle split @ CBC Clerkenwell. Many thanks to Leighton for only letting us drink this when it was ready. The pour’s amber with a small head. The nose is sherry-soaked wood. Honeyed bread. Marzipan. The taste is honeyed apricot. Earthy yeast, countryside meadow. Quite spicy. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, not bad. Marble beers age terribly, so this was a pleasant surprise.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
14th October 2012
Hazy amber beer, big cream coloured head. Nose is citric when in the bottle, in the glass it turns yeasty. Light airy palate, dry. Crispy. Mild malt cream. Pleasant sweet citrus. Good start! Then soapy yeasty flavours dominate the back end. Trace of pineapple. Could have been a good one but too many off notes.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle split at Craft Clerko, thanks to Leighton for this one, 08/07/13.
Lightly hazed golden with a thin off white head.
Nose is bitter oranges, light booze, sour fruit mash, straw, caramel, farmyard.
Taste comprises dark fruits, light booze, dark toffee twang, farmy notes, grass.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, boozey finish with warming alcohol.
Decent drinkable affair but very much an Americanised saison in terms of ramping up the ABV too much. This strips away the clean crisp finish that a saison should offer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours perfectly clear, deep gold with a tight, creamy off-white head. Sugary and doughy malt nose, some hints of ripe citrus, faint yeast. Medium sweet flavor with bready dough, sugary citrus. Full bodied with fine to average, massaging carbonation. Warming finish with light bitter hay, dry dough, dry lemon. Pretty one-dimensional and not especially flavorful, but nothing really wrong with it.

Buttery, malty, spicy aroma.
Taste the same. Then some sickening phenolic stuff. Too sweet. Not well-made.
