Grasiges Finish. /11/9/11//11

Tap @ In de wildeman - pours a clear copper brown body. Great aroma, honey, flowery hops. Smooth and warming taste, pine, mildly sweet, nice hops. Very sticky mouthfeel and aftertaste, in a good way.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2012 Bottle shared at the Euston Tap, much thanks to Nate. Pours a rich, lightly cloudy auburn with a modest, creamy head. Considerble hops in the nose, some shampoo, good fruits. Rich but relaxed and easy flavor, loads of juicy citrus, Bazooka Joe bubble gum, alcohol and some floral bitters. Medium to full in body with average, massaging carbonation. Boozy warmth creeps up in the finish, engulfing the mouth, while more citrus fruits, sugary caramel, gum and resinous hops seal the deal. Very, very nice. (4.1)
Bottle shared at The Kernel during Mario’s farewell day. Pours a lightly hazy amber with a frothy, off-white foam head. Caramel, cakey bread and lightly tangy, ripe fruits in the aroma. Big sweet flavor with lots of caramel, honey, mild earthy and dirty bitterness, toffee and golden raisins. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Light warmth in the finish, fairly sticky with more honey and caramel, bread, light woodiness and faintly oxidized malts. Nice. (4.0)

Bottle; thanks to Nate!
Bomber, as depicted, consumed @ mini tastings at Rake during The Kernel Black IPA launch
Aroma is yeast; candi sugar and something tarty. Taste is citrus, marzepan, fruits, orange peel and tart. Big bold US hop character and very easy to drink despite the abv. A bit hazy in appearance but generally a great full on English beer taking on the yanks. Need to get a bottle for myself somehow.. Nice.

Bottle courtesy of my dad, cheers dad! This was consumed 31.12.10 Pours light brown with some haze and a smattering of tiny bubbles masquerading as a head. Beefy and Oxo like on the nose. Thick in the mouth, some stinging bitterness is quickly replaced by a heavy sweetness, fruity with loads of alcohol. . A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4

Bottle. Golden with a small head and low carbonation. Sweet and powerful but a sledgehammer of a beer with no traces of subtleness. 2010 special is much nicer.

Bottle and cask, alternately, at the Borefts Beer Festival 2010. Golden with a white head. Aroma of dried fruits, especially apricots, malt, citrus hops and alcohol. Sweet and fruity flavour with notes of alcohol and a bit of green tobacco roughness from the hops.

Bottle. Great work again from Marble. The sweetness is just about right. Some barley wines can be edging towards tramp territory but this is well balanced and very drinkable. Already my favourite pub in Manchester and a real contender to Manchester’s other awesome barley wine. Hops, little marmite, smooth and easy to drink. Lovely.

On tap at Wildeman in November 2010.
Clear amber with no head. Sweet aroma of malt, spices and some light hops. The taste was sweet, malt, dried fruit and caramel. Not bad with a warming alcohol.
