DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, - JUL 11, 2011
Bottle from Alexander Wines, Coventry. Pondwatery copper with a thick, cratered beige foam. Juicy hop and yeasty aroma; strawberry and apple cordial, blackberries, lemon mousse, perfume, dry roasted. Robust balanced flavour with bags of dry roasted, juicy apple and strawberry bubblegum notes scrapping it out. Some plastic and spicy, apple strudel hints. Punchy bitter finish, chalky mouthfeel. Bracing, hairs-on-chest stuff.

Bottle at 57 Thomas Street. Dark brownish coloured ale with a hint of redness. Initially seems to be heavy, malty beer with fruit, caramel and a dose of alcohol, but then the hops kick in and you get a nice bitter smack on the finish. Great beer for a miserable night in Manchester!

foxo82 (167) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2012
Bottle from Stirchley Wines & Spirits, Pershore Road, Birmingham. Pours a cloudy tawny (yes, really) brown with some sediment. Nice foamy head and a little visible carbonation. Smells reminiscent of a Belgian wheat beer with bananas, apple and yeast. It tastes nothing like it smells - it starts as a bitter fizz and just keeps growing into a long, bitter finish, giving malts, hops and dark chocolate which all compliment the sweet, fruity aroma so well. It’s been a while since I had a beer that’s as well balanced as this. It lacks a little in mouthfeel but overall it’s a very good beer.

Bottle says it’s produced to ’numerous standards’. Haha, I’m sure it is. Super foamy head; big and lasting. Together with with the mahogany brown body it is a real looker. Soft but pleasant aroma with cashews, some caramel and a hoppy forest smell. Medium and especially smooth body with very pleasant soft carbonation. Taste starts with some nice soft sweetness reminiscent of a more alcoholic beer, and then comes in with a proper but balanced bitterness of classic hops. A bit harsh, maybe, but I like how it is. Seems, then, that the hops in this beer are quite, eh, numerous. Excellently brewed beer that’s flavourful and easy to drink. Great stuff. (50cl bottle)
