0.75l corked bottle from myberwerytap. It’s really cloudy this, dark deep honey colored and the bubbles in the beer sticks to the glass. It also has a small islandy yellow-ish and sidesticking head. Lovely caramel and sweet on the nose this! It somehow after being stored for the better part of two years in my kitchen smell hoppy. There is also a really round and deep oxidized tone all over this. Lots of lovely aroma. Yeah, the oxidation continues in the taste alright. Lots of nuts, bright caramel, some alcohol and a whole bunch of cortex like wood syrup. It’s just below average on the carbonation level and it’s giving me a really gliding oily mouthfeel. In the finish there are lots of ripe fruits, like banana, that sweet orange exotic thing I never remember the name of and overdue sweet honey melon. Enjoying this one. 05.04.2013

Very hazy dark amber beer, residual off white head. Smooth palate with just a hint of carbonation. Pretty sweet malt compensated by loads of fresh piney hop with a trace of mint and a whisper of citrus. Semi dry finish.

Bottle. Poured clear reddish brown color with a moderate frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate dark fruit, earthy and small caramel malt aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a complex solid beer.

750 c&c shared by Marcus. Pours hazy orange amber. Aroma is more fruit than brown sugar. Med body. Flavor is light brown sugar with some soft fruity aspects. Heat is noticeable in the gullet. Develops something akin to maple with time. As the sugar finally leaves, it goes towards bitter.

Bottle from Star Grocery. Pours reddish brown with no head and a fruity aroma. There is a thick treacle flavor with lots of frruit and a bitter maple finish, if that is possible. It’s kind of a strange flavor in that it starts syrupy sweet, then turns bitter.

Last bottle sample of the night at Big Beers and Barley Wines...my notes reflect the late time of the evening. Fairly classic British BW. Sweet without being cloying and also a little hop bite.

Botella. Hazy amber bit reddish colour, white head. Fruity hoppy sweet herbal hoppy aroma. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet with fruity herbal hops, malt, alcohol indeed with a good bitterness. Strange.

750, corked and baled. Pours a clear but unbelievably dark ruddied amber with a dense and creamy tan head. Mild sweet malty nose, lots of brown bread, brown sugar, grass, and a bit of cinnamon. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and cinnamon on the mid palate. Mild sweet finish.
