Draught @ the brewpub. Pours slightly hazy darkish copper brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of caramel malt and yeast, with notes of hops amd fruit. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweetish, estery and malty notes and touches of fruit. Bitter, roasty aftertaste with estery notes. High carbonation. Okay but nothing to go out of one’s way for.

Vom Faß im Marcus-Bräu (als Dunkel, ohne "Preußen"). - Schön röstmalzig, deutliche Kaffeenoten, recht süß. Nur schwach rezent. Leicht pikant-säuerlich im Abgang. Schwach aber ausreichend (für ein Dunkles) gehopft. - Kann man trinken. Vielleicht etwas dünn.

BlackHaddock (4593) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 11, 2012
On my second visit to this brewpub (April 2011) my little party ordered the touristy metre of beer. 12 glasses long, we asked for 6 of each (Pils and this Dunkel). The beer comes a dull light brown, with not much of a head. The nose was of toffee apples and sweet charred molasses. The taste was sweet, but very drinkable, smooth with a toasty finish. One and half glassses each, I had some extra because the wife prefered the Pils!

Tap at the brewpub. Pours clear, red-brown with a light, beige head. Dark malt nose with hints of bacon, brown sugar and smoke. Great, fairly dynamic flavor. Rich, semi-dark malts, pure brown sugar, toast, very light leafy bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with lingering brown sugar, toasty-bready malts, very mild bitter notes. Exceptional beer.
