3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
It has a cloudy dark-golden color with a white, foamy head. An aroma of honey wafts from the glass. This is a smooth beer, though the alcohol is evident. It has a slight nutty aftertaste.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden orange/amber color with large white head. LOADS of sticky webby lacing.
The nose is pretty much all alcohol. There’s a little of the expected yeast but the alcohol drowns everything out for the most part.
Sweet fruitiness, complemented by a very bready yeast flavor. It dries out in the end as it warms up thanks to the alcohol character in this one.
Fluffy feeling that thins out a little toward the end. A great tripel. Definitely recommended.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a gold color with a firm lasting white head with good lacing. Aroma is of sweet fruits; banana and apricot are most prevalent. Flavor is a little disappointing, there is a bitterness combined with an astringency that mask what might be an enjoyable beer. A noticable hop flavor is there and seems terribly out of place. There are some candied fruit flavors hiding in the background but are overpowered.

Pours a nice golden amber color with a large egg shell golor head. Flavor is very fruity with a nice balance of malts. Aroma is some what yeasty and fruity as well. Has a nice warming effect as it goes down. Alcohol isnt hidden very well. Over all a nice brew indeed.

Bière de couleur doré avec des bulles dans sa robe et un bon collet blanc. Odeur de levure, savon et orange. Goût de levure, d’alcool et d’agrumes avec un fini sec, co2 assez élevé et alcool bien dissémulé. Descend très bien.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was one with a bit of a disconnect between the aroma and the flavor. Not that there was anything wrong with the flavor, mind you, but this had a really nice aroma. Oh, but first - orangey brown, with virtually no head. Really nice aroma - buttered toast, with hints of apple pie and pecans. Flavor is smooth and sweet, but dominated by a juicy, orangey note. Some hints of orange peel bitteness. Tres tasty. Sampled at Noogfest2.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
11.2 oz bottle. Clear copper colored; white head quickly turns to a skin. Nose is sweet and yeasty with cloves and spices. Sweet, vegetal, prominent alcohol, bubblegum. Pool water aftertaste. Medium light, medium carb. I just can’t get past the the alcohol but still close to being very good.
I should’ve mentioned that even though I will probably not try this beer again it will always hold a special place in my beer heart. Back before I found RateBeer (8 months ago?) my brother and I went into Pappou’s on Balt. Pike to pick up our usual Harp or Bass. He spotted the Maredsous at like $15 for a 4-pack and said let’s give it a go. Stuff foamed up like a beast and did me up real good after two. So i guess this is a farewell.
