3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 KingPinHead (390) - Des Moines, Washington, USA - SEP 8, 2002
Aroma is light, estery and yeasty--a little like bread dough...Color is a hazy peach-gold...head is not thick but is dense with cracks as in pack sea-ice---clingy lace...Taste features healthy sweet malt base with a candied-fruit quality offset by light but sharp hopping and healthy carbonation---quite effervescent...Finish tastes slightly of cinnamon...Full-bodied brew, again buoyed by the carbonation, which helps make this surprisingly refreshing...Overall, this reminds me of a refined fruit cider...It lacks some complexity in its profile, but is still a very tasty, fruity, and spritely tripple.

This is a decent brew that was a little too flowery for the thin=ckness of the brew.

This beer is the definition of golden. Nose is floral and fruity with some spicy clove notes. Starts slightly sweet and ends with a little bite. The alcohol is more apparent than with other tripels. Good but nothing really outstanding.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Kåstå (1274) - Mol, BELGIUM - AUG 21, 2002
Dark blond with a big head. Flowery hop aroma. Sweetish start that lasts. It is a nice beer.

Big rocky head, golden color, slightly hazy with yeast. Typical fruity/spicy tripel nose. Rather soft sweet fruity start with a spicy finish. Alcohol comes through just a bit. Not bad at all.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2005 Great Belgian ale! Very natural taste not too complex a little yeasty but not overbearing. Recommended

While i love the maredsous 8, this one here fell short of expectation. Golden color, some spice, some fruitiness, alcohol and fiziness. Not great.

Low level Belgian ale, but it makes up for some of it in price. Strong alcohol taste.

Apple bread and spices…Citrus bitterness and a lot of alcohol…There are better examples…
