Much better than the 8. Smooother, less carbonated, higher alcohol. Sweeter, still very very drinkable.

750 ml Bottle. Tulip Glass. A hazy orange amber hue. Nice head, but dissipates relatively quickly. Sweet orange-peach taste. Slightly spicy/peppery to the nose and palate. Typical body for a Triple. And with a sharp bitter/spicy-alcohol finish.

33cl bottle. Poured cloudy amber/orange with a thick frothy white head. Left sheets of lacing. Seemed to take on more of a bright orange glow as it warmed. Aroma of banana Belgian yeast, bread/cookie malts, spices and alcohol. Spicy-sweet malt flavor with banana, citrus and apple. Finishes a bit musty with some trailing spiciness. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation. No real complaints here.

Slight hazy, dark orange/golden body. Lasting big dense white head. Fruity-sweet aroma with scents of alcohol and spices. Sweet and slight acidic flavors. Distinct hopbitterness. Dominating alcohol heath in the aftertaste. Big body, vineous mouthfeel. A powerful tripel.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2009 From John’s Liquor in Eureka, CA. Poured cloudy dull orange into my new Duvel glass with big foamy head that settled faiirly swiiftly leaving big chunks of lacing. Powerfull nose of yeast, flowers, and alcohol. Mouthfeel is fizzy kind of like champagne, and taste is banana with some sweetness. Finish shows high alcohol content . Very nice Abbey Tripel

Fizzy orange with about an inch head. Flavor has a bit of raisin or prune in it. Creamy mouthfeel with a strong alcohol kick at the end.

Pours hazy medium orange with a rocky white head. Aroma is maltu of cookies and lightly hoppy of flowers and moderatly yeasty of leather and earth. Flavor starts well balanced of prunes and candi sugar, finishes more sweet which covers the alcohol nicely. Average clean finish. Medium bodied, oily and creamy, livley and light alcohol in the end.
