Golden beer with a characteristically fresh bouquet and sweet after-taste.

Bottle from backlog. Amber with a white head leaving lacing. Aroma: fruity with pear and citrus, bubblegum. Taste: orange zest, pear, bubblegum, dried grass, spices. Quite a moussy mouthfeel. Very nice.

Não sei se eu sou cabaço demais pra esse tipo de cerveja. O chêro é bom, ela é lindona. Mas o gosto... Forte pacas, e muito doce pra mim. Falta aquele amarguinho bão.

This is one of those beers I scrolled past numerous times because I thought I had had it back in 2006 or 2007 - or maybe I did and I just didn’t remember to add a rating for it here (the shock and horror!). Anyway, I got a bottle of this at St. Arnold’s Mussel Bar in Dupont, DC. Poured a slightly hazy orange color with a medium sized, lasting fluffy white head. Aroma was nice light citrus notes, some earthy notes - and a nice light toffee, sweet note to it. Pleasant yeast component in this one, produces a light spice note on the finish. Alcohol is there, but hidden quite well in my opinion. I think I’ve just become a fan.

Bottle, 330ml. An amber beer with a medium size creamy head. It has a somewhat fruity aroma with malt, caramel, alcohol and maybe a hint of bananas. Taste is bitter and well-balanced. Carbonation and astringency are faint. Slightly alcoholic finish, but not very strong, especially considering the high ABV this beer has.

Bottle, 33cl. Clear orange/amber with a low but creamy head with beautiful lacing. Sweet, spicy aroma, with hints of sweet malts, clove, straw, sour apples and bready yeasts. Medium bodied, with moderate to high carbonation. Not as sweet as most tripels, with a subtle bitterness, and an earthy alcohol finish. Very pleasant.

Bottle 330. Pours clear dark golden to orange with a short foamy head that lasts a couple of minutes. Aroma of strong sweet malt, grains and pleasant yeasty smells. Mouth feel is nicely tangy and very thick but not creamy, strong pleasant foaming sensation in mouth. Tastes of sweet malt, honey. Slightly fruity and orange flavors. Feel-able alcohol taste (slightly too strong). Warm spices, with some weak anise notes. No sourness and very mild neutral hops bitterness. More wine-brandy notes from alcohol. Some woody tones. Strong and sweet, yet not very heavy. After taste is weak, slightly sticky and sweet. Very nice complex and pleasant beer, only complaint is the strong alchoholic flavor.
