Bottle. Pours a light coppery color (darker than expected) with a big fluffy head and aromas that are sticky with light fruit (pears and apples) and honey. Flavor is similarly fruity and sweet with a pretty good boozy warmth and a little bit of a cloves presence. This is darker in color and on the palate than most Tripels I have had and I like the departure from "normal."

0,33 l bottle from drankgigant.nl, best before 10/2016. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, tan to white head. Sweetish, fruity-spicy aroma of citrus, banana, honey, vanilla, toffee and nuts. Sweetish, fruity-spicy taste of banana, cane sugar, toffee, nuts and vanilla. Medium long, slightly bitter and gently alcoholic finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite reserved concerning aroma and taste but nevertheless tasty. Not the best out there, though. Expected way more.

Another retro brew I have not had in many years... Big cotton candy, toffee, and boozy notes along with pear and crabapple. There is a faint almost peaty iodine earthiness I frankly don’t remember before. Sharp and biting with a somewhat dryer finish. This could stand a year or more of aging but alas I will not be the one. It is no Tripel Karmeliet nor Allagash but not much is.

@ Hotel Van Belle, Brussels 13/5-15. Yeasty and fruity with banana, also spices/phenolic. Body is medium, the finish is dry and spicy.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2015 Goût assez fruité, un semblant de sucre candy roux, une bonne pétillance, et un niveau d?alcool qui ne laisse indifférent. Une triple efficace sans être exceptionnelle non plus.

Fruity aroma - peach, banana, some booze. Amber colour, bit hazy with nice white head. Taste is sweet, again, fruity, peach predominates with low bitterness at the finish, some alcohol warming. Overall very good.

Robe ambrée. Nez assez discret, malt, épices, sucre roux. Bouche assez ronde et fruitée, opulente mais qui manque de complexité à mon goût. Une triple assez simple.

Slightly murky golden pour with modest foam head. A: typical yeasty fruity Tripel, mostly marzipan, faint vanilla note. Bit boozy. T: standard fruity, yeasty Tripel with mostly marzipan, almonds, some cherries. Bit oily, boozy here as well. Fruity aftertaste.

Bottle poured in to the appropriate glassware at Staminee De Garre. Poured directly after the house Tripel. That’s a hard act to follow. It’s hazy Golden Amber with a White head. Yeasty banana aroma with spice and fruit. Tastes of cake dough. Lemony hops with a big hit of alcohol. uite nice but I’d have preferred another De Garre.
