bookman10 (84), Osseo, Minnesota, USA Nov 8, 2009 Nice hazy golden color. Not as sweet as some tripels (which is a plus in my book). Nice smooth flavor with some hops, some spice, almost a weizen flavor to it. Very nice beer. waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Nov 6, 2009 golden/copper pour with foamy white head. lacing. freshly baked bread, light spice, fig aroma. flavor much the same. alcohol a bit harsh. light sourness. jaghana (90), Strasbourg, France Nov 6, 2009 Bottle 33. Golden hazy ale. A typical tripple, with an unbelievable hops flavour neer to Duvel king of. Quite alcoolic, the aroma took some astringent notes from wheat (but is seems there is no wheat in it!). TreborWhip (67), Reading, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 1, 2009 750ml bottle poured into plastic cups at a Halloween party, therefore I’m unable to comment on the appearance. I was disappointed that this wasn’t a better abbey ale. Although the flavor was pleasant, it was very weak. High alcohol content was noticeable. Wulfstan (509), California, USA Oct 29, 2009 This is a lighter, highly drinkable, yet complex and interesting tripel.
This is deep gold with a huge, airy, off-white head that shrinks slowly, leaving some decent lace.
Aroma is light fruit, grapes and grape juice, with wine, hints of herbs and bread, metal, faintly reminsicent of a maibock.
The taste is similar, but more interesting and complex, with lemon, white/green grapes, hints of raisin, herbs, bread crust, alcohol, with a bread-grain aftertaste. Body is light but complex, zesty, lively, crisp, and interesting. it is highly drinkable.
Moshe (8), Rhode Island, USA does not count Oct 25, 2009 Golden amber brew with a creamy head. Sweet citrusy flavor with a drier finish. the high alcohol level comes through as warmth rather than harshness. Will be going out to buy more soon. Scouser (39), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2009 Pours a cloudy golden color w nice white lacing. Malty, raisin, spice aroma. Tastes just like it smells, raisins and spice. For a high etoh content beer it’s very easy to drink. A well brewed beer. Ljunkan (379), Karlstad, Sweden Oct 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden color with a nice white head. Aroma is very fruity, spicy, yeasty with notes of orange, citrus and banana, some mild grassiness. Flavour is malty, fruity and spicy with clear orange-like notes, citrus, and warming alcohol. Light bitterness in the finish. Quite lively carbonation. Mediumbodied.
