Poured from the bottle wrapped. Very fancy!. Bought by a coworker as going away gift. Aroma was like a Belgium. Flavor had nice fruit flavors. This was like a tripel, or quad. Very nice for a blonde.. As a Belgium ale.

"Purchased over Christmas for me by a colleague based in Belgium. It was purchased at the Maredsous Abbaye Brewery in Denée near Namur in Belgium Poured at 45 Degrees F into a Duvel Tulip Glass Beer Advocate does not recommend this beer for cellaring due to the low ABV but it is bottle conditioned with a lot of yeast at the bottom. Bottle says best before 12/11/2013. A - Poured a nice golden haze but the colour is more like mahogany. The head was slightly off white but mostly white and was about 4 fingers. A very beautiful ale. S - It’s a pleasant smell but rather weak. Honey and vanilla are there. I smell a lot of old beer smell ya know like going into a bar at 7AM kind of smell. It’s not terrible but it’s a bit of a turn off. There’s a bit of dry fruit at the end. T - Did someone sneak into Duvel and steal about 10% of their recipe and then add water? That’s what I’m getting from this. It tastes very watered down and a bit boring. I’m getting the typical Belgian Pale Ale flavor but overall, not amazing. Maybe it’s TOO fresh? There’s some more of that vanilla and honey. I’m getting some citrus but it’s like they took a great beer and threw too much water in it. M - Very carbonated, medium bodied and pretty easy to drink down. No need to split this 750 with a friend. It’s a nice solo beer. O - It’s a nice treat getting fresh Belgian ales direct from the brewery but I’m regretting it and wishing it was Rochefort or Chimay..."

Pours straight gold with some dissipating white head. Nice blonde with some bite to it. Prickly on the palate in a good way. Enjoyed

Poured a large head, amber colour, hazy. Had a yeasty smell, not unlike Leffe of Grimmbergen Blonde. Tasted more spicy and was slightly more bitter than other Belgian Blondes, also had fruity notes(mainly berries). Overall a typical example of the style, nice but holds no surprises.

Draft, Bar Dada, Sheffield. Pure gold, strong yeast aroma, some barnyard notes. Somewhat sweet, mild flavour, slightly sour on the finish. Just okay.

330 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on January 7. Pours golden with a creamy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some trace on the glass. Smell is malty sweet with yeasty notes, lemon zest, some bread and metal. Taste is sweet and fruity with lots of yeast and bread. Combines the regular blonde flavours with some very strange bi-flavours which gives it a rather stale, bready and strange character. Finish is slightly sweet and rather yeasty.

From backlog

Head: white, small, foamy
Colour: light amberish
Smell: fruity , malts, bit citric , some malts, mostly yeast for the bitterness
Taste: start is malts, a bit sweet , then comes a bit of yeast and ends with a fruity bitterness , not special but just normal everyday drinking beer ...
