Pours a hazy bright gold with a profuse billowing eggshell white head. The nose shows black pepper, lemongrass, some yeasty funk, fruity esters. Palate is mildly spicy, fruity, some citrus rind bitterness, mild earthy funk. Palate is spicy with a mild bitterness.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tejas (762) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 10, 2009
Ehhh, nothing spectacular nor disgusting. Spicy w/ a very dry palate. To dry if you ask me. Something about a blonde needs to refreshing and a dry palate doesn’t do that. Does present great though. Little fruity flavor but very little.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Egon (478) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - SEP 10, 2009
Bottle. Clear yellow with large white head. Fresh, yeast, sweet. Very mild bitterness. Some spices but rather low key overall. Ok, blond but maybe a bit boring.

Surprisingly good considering how light it is. Not a 10, but it’s drinkable.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 elihapa (1369) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - SEP 4, 2009
On tap. Pours clear blonde with a nize big white head. Aroma is surprisingly grainy, with typical Belgian yeast nose. Palate is light and refreshingly crisp, reminded me of a Kolsch. Finish is medium-dry, though not notably so. Flavors are light, softly fruity, and grain like. Finish has some mild hop bitterness. It all blends together a bit sharp, not sure how though. Overall, I just couldn’t get a very good read on this one, a perception that leads me to believe that this beer may just be a bit boring.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 vyvvy (2798) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - AUG 25, 2009
Pours dark blond / amber with a large fluffy white head. The aroma has light dough, mild (if any) toast to the malt and earthy Belgian yeast. Medium smooth body with semi-soft carbonation. The taste starts like the aroma with lots of smoothness and some banana esters thrown in. The finish has some phenolic spice and some other spice that seems to come from hops. An okay blond, but nothing all that great.

330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Perfumey aroma, some apple, some pear. Deep orange, long-lasting tight small head. Appley palate, no real depth, but quite pleasant. Some almond in the finish. Certainly pleasant, but no wows. The macro equivalent of decent abbey beer, perhaps?
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jimthechap (644) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 22, 2009
What a pleasant drop. The initial aroma was a touch foreboding; sweaty armpit typical of britannomycaes even though I am not absolutely sure it is fermented in that manner. However this gave way to golden malt aromas and a niff of underlaying hoppiness. The scent is unmistakeably Belgian.
The goldenness permeated through to the first complex malt flavours and lush depth of hops. Smooth initially and then a prickliness from the carbonation. Incidentally the head lasted well after the beer disappeared... good lacing. Good to look at and well worth having another.
