2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 thirstyrabbit (478) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 17, 2011
Small bottle. Hazy golden/amber body. Medium head. Sweet yeasty aroma. A bit harsh palate. Taste is medium bitter but it feels more like metallic bitterness and less like hop bitterness. Some spiciness in the finish. It doesn’t seem to come together too well, it kind of feels industrial and lifeless. I also fail to understand the success of Duvel which, in my opinion, is similarly unsophisticated and harsh.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vignale (783) - Malmö, SWEDEN - OCT 8, 2011
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 banner001 (23) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2011
Nice smooth ale, weak initial taste comes on stronger further into the drink. Slight hint of bitterness, not as flavourfull as other Trappist ales.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Benzai (2302) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - SEP 12, 2011
Bottle at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Decent Belgian blond ale. Pretty average on all criteria. Decent blond color, decent smell and taste. Nothing stands out, certainly not in a negative way which makes it a nice useful beer, but nothing special.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 emilysings (4) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 6, 2011 does not count
The honeyed and sweet aroma and golden glow are incongruous with the flavour, which is a bit thin. The flavour creeps toward the back of the tongue rather than covering it in cloying malt. Pleasant CO2 though.
