I tried this beer on November 19, 2010 after purchasing a Christmas Gift Pack from one of my local LCBO stores. The beer poured a hazy golden orange with a thin, rocky, tan coloured cap. The aroma light fruits, yeast, and citrusy hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is yeast, hops, and a slight fruity sourness. A pretty good beer.

Countbeer (5982) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 1, 2011
Bottle: Airy white head on top of a light cloudy dark yellow to orange beer. Smell fruit, orange, yeast, malts, sweets and light hint of spices. Taste is a well balanced mix of yeast, fruit, orange, banana, light malty, light bitter and sweet and a hint of hops. Fruity grassy aftertaste with hints of malt and yeast. Mid carbo, mid body and soft mouthfeel.

Bottle popped at midnight on 2011. Pours a hazy orange with sediment apparent. Big white head. Aroma is barnyard, grain, dusty sticks. Flavor of dry grain, yeast, some dry fruit. Mouthfeel is pretty nice. Bready finish.

330ml brown bottle. Golden colour, big white head. Sparse lacing. Light sweet fruity aroma, some yeast notes. Flavour is of fruity malt, orange and perhaps pineapple, yeasty. Light hoppy aftertaste with some citrus character. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Pretty nice, refreshing. Drier and crisper than expected.

Tallahassee, Fl - Earth Fare - 750 ml Cage corked bottle. Light gold pour, snow white sticky head that leaves good lacing. Fresh lemony aroma with a hint of yeast. Flavor is refreshing with a front end of pears, a bit of spiciness - saffron comes to mind, a hint of yeastiness. Mouthfeel is crisp. Nice one to while away Christmas evening with.

[330ml bottle that Jim shared with me - cheers!] Golden-amber, small white head. Annoying prickly fizz. Clear Belgian aroma and flavour - sweet, with lots of pepper, some banana & lemon, & a hint of something medicinal. Rather dull, a so-so Belgian ale.

330ml bottle. pours a golden yellow with a thick white head. aroma is citrus, pear, and that signature Maredsous yeast that i love so much. taste is sweet, but not too much. lotsa spices going on here, most notably coriander. mouthfeel is great. full bodied, medium carbonation. a sticky feel to it. i like this more than their Triple, but not as much as their Dubbel. i’ve gotta say though, Maredsous is right up there with my favourites.

Not had this for years. Clear golden with thin white head. Aroma of grass, cardboard, dust, belgian yeast. Smells a little like your run of the mill old man. Flavour is sweet, some citrus, thin and fizzy. A passable blond.
