3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 weaselkenievil (1089) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - DEC 6, 2010
Bottle. Muddy brown colour with nice off white head. Faint bovril in aroma? My nose is knackered. Flavour is nutty, caramel, sweet but a good kind of sweet. Pleasantly surprised, I thought this was a tasty dubbel (which I’m presuming it is, I couldn’t find that if it isn’t).

The beer label says Maredsous Dobbel. This is the closest I could find. Pours brown caramel in the glass. Nose and taste of sweetness, dougs and beet sugars. Rated 6/15/2000
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Bosskie (216) - NETHERLANDS - APR 20, 2010
Not sure about the appearance as I got it in the Maredsous pottery chalice thingy... nice creamy head though. Smell’s warm and earthy, with lots of spices. Reminds me of sourwood too. Bitter, liquorice, strong coffee taste. Very spicy, with very little sweet, rather salty actually. Very bitter aftertaste. Refreshing.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dirkbreedveld (286) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 27, 2008
Delious dubbel from Moortgat brewery. Nice dark colour steady foam also from draught.
Nice rasted malts, not too sweet(like most dubbels), nice roasted and hoppy aftertaste. Good for cooking too.

Also a lovely beer. Pours dark bronze, with caramel and nut flavours. Goes down smooth.

Approximately 8-year old bottle from the cellar of a very kind Belgian dentist. A nice, welcome sound of co2 escaping on popping the cap. Poured with a decent head and good clarity. Instant aroma of raisins and port with a complex and rich flavor. Vanilla, madeira, stewed fruits, and caremel. Surprisingly well aged with good mouthfeel and a touch of sweetness.
