clasley (153), Arkansas, USA Jul 1, 2007 330 ml bottle. Pours a rich mahogany with an intense beige head. Subtle nose with hints of fruit and a touch of malty sweetness. Dry, medium body with plum and fruit up front followed by a nice snappy finish. Glazed9884 (207), USA Jun 30, 2007 xxx this was a pretty good brew, not the best of belgian strong ales, but still drinkable opc (15), Ontario, Canada Jun 25, 2007 330ml bottle. This is an absolutely beautiful looking beer in all respects. The dense pocketed head lasts the entire beer, and has a nice even beige colour. The beer itself is a nice golden maple syrup brown. Aroma is quite nice, with some sweeter notes including molasses, maple syrup, hints of cinnamon and plum. The taste is unfortunately lacking, with little or no depth, excessive sweetness, and a slightly acidic watery finish. Overall this is still a good beer, and well worth a try. loslava (9), Hope Mills, North Carolina, USA does not count Jun 23, 2007 Red-Brown color with large light brown head. Suble fruity aroma with slight bitter taste. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Jun 20, 2007 Dark mahogany with a thick off-white head. Deep aroma of malt, peat, smoke, and molasses. Creamy mouthfeel. Heavy malt, caramel, some peat, and dark fruits in the taste. Long aftertaste. noattention (20), California, USA Jun 18, 2007 Strong pleasant flavor, but still maintains a classic "beer" flavor lacking in some of the more aggressive Belgian beers. thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Jun 16, 2007 Bottle. A dark red mahogany with a big creamy off white head. Aroma is fruity with some roasted malts and dried fruits. And a lot of barn as well. Flavour had a suprising liquorice feel to it - it was sweet with a roasted edge along with a thin dose of spices. Slightly vinious with a raisin and plum-like aftertaste.
