Had this 6 years ago in Hotel Zum Bären, Zell (Bavaria), a stone’s throw away from the brewery, on a hot humid day. Today is a similar day in Amsterdam with a bottle purchased from the brewery about 5 weeks ago. Color of dark caramel, naturally cloudy. A firm off white head with quite long retention. Aroma’s of caramel, banana, wheat, a bit spices. Flavor is lightly caramel-sweet, wheaty. Body could have been a tad bit fuller. All in all tasty & refreshing.

Bottle 50cl. Pours a dark Hefeweizen with huge and stable white head. Fruity nose, yeast, maltiness. Tastes grainy, yeasty, fresh, balanced. This is a great fresh taste. Nice!

Poured cloudy mahogany with a nice foamy-pillowy off white-tan head. Mild fruity aroma with toasted caramel and malt, some citrusses. Medium body, toasted caramel, spicies, clove, some honey. Mild toasted aftertaste with a bit of hops, citrusses.

Színe ködös mahagóni, egy krémes és a pohár szélén (is) megmaradó, piszkosfehér színű habbal a tetején. A picit visszafogott és fanyar illata erjedt gyümölcsös, karamellás és fűszeres. Csípősen indul, teste könnyed, de nem vizes, még pont belefér. Fanyar aromája gabonás, karamellás, citrusos, szegfűszeges hatásokat hordoz magában, az íze karamellás, banános és fűszeres. Befejezése citrusos, mogyorós és szegfűszeges (mely egy gyümölcsös-fűszeres utóízt hagy maga után). Könnyen iható, frissítő és megfelelően kiegyensúlyozott.. Szóval, rendben van.

Bügelverschlußflasche (Danke, Jonas!): Hazy, amber coloured, medium sized - slowly collapsing - off-white head; light wheaty-toasty nose with a metallic tinge; light to moderate sweetish-bitter(!) flavour, light to medium bodied; short toasty, sourish and bitter finish. Not bad, but where are the typical Weizen qualities.....?

(swing top bottle) Hazy, chestnut-brown colour with a massive beige foamy head. Yeasty and slightly sour fruity (banana, grape-fruit) aroma with notes of cara-malt, wheat and a tinge of cloves. Slightly bitter and sour flavour, light bodied with a soft and well-matured carbonation. Quite toasty malty taste with a delicate wheat-character, rounded up with mild fruity notes and phenolic spices; quite dry and slightly sour-fruity finish with a tinge of bitter tartness. Unspectacular Dunkelweizen. 24.II.10

Nice minimalistic bottle. Cloudy copper, big fluffy golden lace. Spicy metallic aroma, clove, rusty edges. Medium body, creamy and sparkly mouthfeel. Spicy bread base, a bit pumpernickel, cloves, ginger, dry on the palate. Most certainly one of the better spicy Dunkelweizen I have had.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Very cloudy, creamy head. Starts like a good helles hefeweizen, fruity and yeasty, notes of banana. Finish malty-spicy, well balanced. Very drinkable. Really good beer!

Bottle. Color is light brown. Nice big head with ok duration. Aroma is powerfull and yeasty. Taste is fruit (banana ??) and some citrus.
