COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A great fruit beer. The blueberry flavor is a perfect marriage of ingredients. Light and refreshing, this beer is great all by itself or blended with another. Try a Black and Blue which is a mix of Stout and Bluebeery Ale.

Hazy amberish with a light fizzling head. Blueberry pancakes up the ass in the aroma and then again in the flavor with an addition of some pepper or something, not bad, for a fruit beer.

Clouded orange, looks like a wheat, light head formation. Deeply arousing aroma, sweet blueberry and peppery spice. Smooth easy drinking palate, spice and sweetness of blueberry come through immediately. Fairly bitter in the finish with a spicy dryness.

Golden yellow in color with a nice white head. Smells like pepper and blueberry. Very light blueberry flavor. Sweet and peppery.

Poured the color of onion skin with a diminished lacing head. A fake blueberry aroma. The flavor was again of fake blueberry with some citrus and pepper. A decent carbonation and a light to medium body. This is exactly what I expected...not good.

Light yellow color, plenty of foam. I don't feel that the blueberry flavor is very subtle, but it is true and doesn't taste artificial and there is enough hops to balance it fairly well. I do like blueberries so this was pleasant, as fruit beers go this was done very well but I don't often reach for something like this.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2003 a cloudy, light orange concoction..a morning at denny's filled the air with blueberry pancakes with fresh blueberry tartness noticeable...I was prepared to hate it and I do hate it..its just kinda gross tasting and its milky in the mouth leaving me with a throat full of flem..flavor is kinda like half-thawed freezer burnt blueberries.. gears towards a genuine blueberry flavor rather than an artificial one but its still not good

Light gold color, medium head, with a slight berry nose. A light bodied ale, nicely malty and medium hopped. Blueberry flavoring subtle, not very sweet. Mild smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is smooth. Aftertaste is slightly fruity, yet slightly bitter.

World class for a fruit beer. I realize this is a much-derided category, but this beer is legit and worthy of being stacked up against some fruit lambics. Itís won scads of awards and the taste infused isnít the least bit artificial or cloying. Frankly, this is not a chick beer - itís a real, quality ale that no guy should be embarrassed to drink. Itís cloudy and murky in the glass, which is a good sign. Open your mind and give this a fair shot.

Iím not a big fruit-*flavored* fan at all. I love lambics where thereís some complexity from fermentation and the associated yeast and bacteria but your typical apricot-flavored wheat beer usually sucks rocks. After reading this beers many awards from GABF and WBC listed on its label, I was still prepared to hate this stuff. But thank God I didnít! The aroma is all of floral, perfume, slightly hoppy and of course blueberry. The beer is well-textured and balanced, refreshing and complex. In an age of micro-clones, itís got character! It also looks great from start to finish.
