21st Anniversary Brew. We will be releasing the first batch ever of "Brass Knuckle Imperial I.P.A.", "White Knuckles" big brother. Using the same raw materials as our White Knuckle Double I.P.A., we have created an even bigger hop monster. Similar flavors, but MORE! We used over 8 lbs. of hops per barrel in the "Brass Knuckle" & dry hopped it 3 times! This brew weighs in at about 10% alcohol by volume. Beware of the PUNCH of the "Brass Knuckle".

On tap at Harry’s Hofbrau in San Jose. Strong pine with moderately low citrus and lemon. Hazy orange-gold with sustained white head of moderate size. Moderate lacing down the glass. Taste is sweet and biscuit malt. Residual sweetness is cloying. Moderate low bitterness. Alcohol is apparent with slight warmth.

"maybe because it’s also maltier and heavier, but this was not noticeably hoppier than white knuckle, an excellent beer in it’s own right. darker, dank hops. aromatic, pungent, and thick. reasonably well balanced for a hoppy monster of a beer. "

Pours golden amber. Pretty sweet. Hops are pineapple, apricot, fruit, cantaloupe. A big double and definitely a sipper instead of a repeater. Very nice, but a bit sweet for me.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is much more hop forward, it has warmed a bit. Flavor is very bitter. Nice head and lacing. This is good, but not as good as white knuckle, more alcoholic taste comes through.

Sampled @ AZ Strong Beer Fest. Man was I excited to try this...White Knuckle’s older brother!!! Sorely disappointed!!! 24 karat/copper pour with a 1/4 inch dense eggshell head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, honey, and subtle citrus. Flavor is extremely sweet and cloying. Not sure if this was old or if this is what the brewer intended. Thick and syrupy. Bleh.

On tap in sample size at the 2011 Bistro DIPA Fest. Pours a deep clear amber color with a lasting, sticky tan head. Aroma is crystal and caramel malts with some grapefruit and other citrus. Flavor is caramel and candied citrus. Bitterness is present but lacking in intensity, and the body is rather syrupy. Doesn’t live up to its younger brother White Knuckle.
