COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"White Knuckle Ale" is a Double India Pale Ale. That's right, twice the malt and twice the hops in one 14 barrel batch. It is named in honor of the exciting bike trail on Mt. Tam. If you are a "hophead", this one's for you; fat, chewy, resiny and pungent! Pour into a wide-mouthed glass and get ready to rip!

22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a medium sized yellowish head. The aroma is popping with sticky citrus, resiny and earthy hops, hints of pepper and some sweet caramel malt. The flavor has enough caramel malt as a base to make this not entirely about the hops. However, big notes of sticky citrus, pith, earthy bitterness and oily resiny hops drive this beer. Medium plus bodied. This was a very solid brew that I had been looking for for a while.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2011 A - deep copper some creamy head and nice lacing. S - nice hops bouquet, piney grassy light floral. M - light low carb. T - spicy resiny piney hops to start. Malty sweet middle, sugary berries/ cantaloupe like malts. Light floral piney hops ending. O - Far too malty for a double ipa. Ok but not great for style. 5-/5
