EddieG (162), Palos Heights, Illinois, USA Jul 27, 2003 A little thin for my liking. Has a great color (deep red) and the aroma immediately smacks with you with the classic c hop aroma. The flavor was good but ould have been balanced with a heavier malt sweetness.
Sparky27 (710), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 24, 2008 Bomber courtesy of Iowaherkeye. Pours a clear medium amber with a 2 finger creamy white head and splotchy lacing. Nose is orange peel, grapefruit and pine. Taste is caramel and sweet ripe citrus upfront with bitter yellow grapefruit finish. Medium creamy sticky mouth feel. Nice DIPA. Thanks Joey! FirmButtstone (23), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Oct 15, 2008 22oz from IowaHerkeye (thanks Joey). Wow, this is good. Greant hop nose that really follows through. Nice body to hold up to the hops, pine and grapefuit mix. Nice blend (reminds me of Summit hops). Really like this beer, a must get for the IPA fans. BOLTZ7555 (585), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 15, 2008 Bottle acquired via trade with explosivebeer...Brandon, you ROCK, my friend!!! Vibrant copper pour produces a frothy eggshell head and significant lacing. Extremely fragrant; floral, resinous, and citrusy. It definitely woke me up!!! Bold orange, grapefruit, and tangerine start this one out. Ponderosa pine and lemongrass in the midpalate, but finishes with a nice caramel sweetness. Oily mourthfeel with lingering pine. This one impressed!!!! golubj (1084), Redwood City, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma is citrusy, and resinous / earthy. Sweet malt and citrus in the initial flavor, with a pretty decent amount of resinous hops also. Medium-high amount of bitterness. Oily mouthfeel and finish. MI2CA (1101), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Sep 29, 2008 Sample at J Gumbos Aug 2008 Indy tasting - Aroma of flowery hops and caramel malt. Flavor is more citrus but still flowery hops. Caramel and cardboard (age?). Palate is tart. Tasty, but pales at a tasting with so many other great DIPA’s.
