"White Knuckle Ale" is a Double India Pale Ale. That's right, twice the malt and twice the hops in one 14 barrel batch. It is named in honor of the exciting bike trail on Mt. Tam. If you are a "hophead", this one's for you; fat, chewy, resiny and pungent! Pour into a wide-mouthed glass and get ready to rip!

Pours a hazy orange with thick white head, laces well in my tulip glass. Aroma of citrus hops, a bit more floral hops than I prefer, but not overdone, pine, and a strong grass. Flavor matches pretty well and gives that nice kick, with a bit of sweetness. Very solid IIPA, thanks cloudskipper!

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to the host with the most and the man with the pad, 27/03/14. Golden orange with a moderate light beige covering that retains. Nose is bitter tropicals, orange sherbet, light spice, caramel malt, bitter grapefruit. Taste comprises bitter hop bite, candied sugars, pine resin, grapefruit, tropical fruits, light booze. Medium + bodiment, fine carbonation, semi drying close with semi aggressive hop bitterness. Decent DIPA.

Bottle @ ZZT 9 thanks to myself. Hazy reddish color, medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, hops, lots of resin and pine, superbly bitter. Superb bitterness, medium to full body, medium carbonation. Nice!

Pours an orange unclear beer with a good white head. Smells sweet fruits, honey. Tastes the same. Average carbo, dry texture and a medium body.

Tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to our ever gracious host. Almost clear amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and airy with fine carbonation. Smooth malt, light and fluffy, little cream. Hops are bitterish with a little fresh hop spice. Pine and a little bitter orange, Finishes smooth with a mild bitter linger. Very nice, comes together very well.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Bruce. Pours clear, rich gold with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has some dry pine, mild bread, caramel, dry orange. Medium sweet flavor with oily hop character, light alcohol kick, pine, orange, grapefruit. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish with oily and sticky pine, nips of toasted bread and caramel. Tasty stuff.

Bottle thanks to Bruce. It pours deep amber with a medium beige head. The nose is pine, resin, varnish, candied peel, orange and caramel. The taste is toasty, pine, resin, varnish, candied peel, orange peel and light alcohol with a bitter, resinous finish. Medium plus body and fine carbonation. Well rounded and pretty tasty.

Merci mcberko pour la bouteille! Un liquide qui suinte la marmelade et la résine de pin. En bouche c’est furieusement collant et résineux avec un malt complexe, presque comme une red ale. Buvabilité fébrile.

Pour is copper, mostly clear, with a small tan head. Nose is caramel malts, light bread crust, stale hops, pine and hop resin with a faint citrus. Taste is a lot of the same, not horrible but not on the good side. Lots of malt, caramel, bread crust. Fair bit of hop resin and some piney hops. Carb is light, body is a bit syrupy, sticky and thick. Finish has a hint of citrus bitterness with the bitterness lingering. Lots of sugars still sitting around.
