jazz88 (2235), San Francisco, California, USA Mar 22, 2006 Bottle. A hazed golden yellow color with a white head. Much lighter in color than I would have expected. It has a malty flavor while making you think it will have a rich hefe citrus character. Yet it mocks you with none of the best qualities of either a hefe or bock. A strong banana aroma with a corn flavor.
ajm (902), Los Angeles, California, USA Nov 1, 2009 Bottle from Hi Time. Not a fan. This doesn’t taste like a weizen bock as much as just a big wheat ale. Nose is thick yeast, flour, crust. Flavor was that tangy hefe weissen flavor plus dead malts. Slightly vegetal. Smooth but not very tasty. ghawener (952), San Salvador, El Salvador Aug 8, 2009 Bottle: Turbo charged Weizen! All you would expect from a Weizen but exponential. Food Pairing: Extra sharp cheese. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 25, 2009 22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Mild citrusy hops aroma and light wheaty. Sweet wheat malty flavoured. Mild citrusy note. Medium dry and light estery flavoured finish. Rather plain brew, I guess it does well at the brewpub for those interested in smooth hefeweizen brews. badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Mar 25, 2009 Yellow with a fluffy white head. Grain braid aroma. Mild fruit slight banana and mild candy taste. larsniclas (3383), Gothenburg, Sweden Feb 20, 2009 Draught at the brewpub
Hazy yellow with a white head.
Sourish aroma with spicy notes.
Pretty sweet, malty and vinous flavour. Marzipan. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Sep 9, 2008 Bottle; color was amber with a medium sized off white head. Aroma of fruit, bread, spice, earth and musty wheat. Alot of fruit esters in the flavor. Slightly sweet; bready, spicy and earthy in the finish. A solid, but unremarkable brew. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pours cloudy orange with a small but lasting head. Aroma is of tangerines. I pick up a certain sour vinegar note everyone once in a while. Not overwhelming but not pleasant. Flavor is very mild, slight caramel flavor but really not much of anything. Light sweetness. Body is medium and creamy. Surprisingly light and drinkable for a 7.5% brew. rayOfBeer (316), El Cerrito, California, USA Jul 13, 2008 Poured from tap at Marin Brew Breast Fest a clear blond with a thin white head and lacking carbonation. This beer had very little aroma with maybe a hint of grassy hay and something like canned beans. The flavor is dull with some cloying sweetness, lots of malt, and a very minor light wheat tang. I’m not a fan of this one. Misses much of what I like in a weizen or strong ale. Would skip next time.
