el_caballo (101), Beverly Hills, California, USA May 12, 2008 Not a bad beer at all. Floral with a little citrus. Its got some hops up front. But the body is made up largely of sweet malts. Not my favorite IPA but very drinkable
scrizzz (456), kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 22, 2008 orange/gold clear but with a dense haze, soft fluffy, creamy head. sticky citrus aroma with lemon and birch. very impressive to have all of this flavor and body in a single IPA. malt has a smoky side and demands alot of complimentary hops, which are here in ample amounts. balanced pine/grapefruit swirl in the finish. ends a bit heavy with a lasting tingle on the back of the throat. Zinister (835), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle from Bottleworks. Honey golden pour with white head with nice lacing. Tacky resin-hop nose wth some good grapefruit flavors. Flavor has a good malt backbone that allows the hops to incorporate quite well. Some good spicy flavors with some bready notes. There is a bit of a metallic finish, but overall this is nice. BBB63 (3681), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: Nice deep coppery hue topped by a fluffy creamy head and left good lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of piney and resiny hops along with grapefruit and green tea esters. Also some biscuity and caramel malt, chalky yeast and some clove and pepper vapours. The taste is much more balanced than the nose lets on. Twangy and pungent hops profile is countered by sweet bready and toffee malt. The finish displays hop spice and some alcohol snap, a touch medicinal. The mouth feel is crisp and refreshing but the metallic finish does tend to wear on me. All in all a solid IPA that I bet would be even better on tap. Nik925 (52), California, USA Jun 10, 2008 Another amazing IPA, really puts the cascade hop/grapefruit taste forefront, which is a good thing for me. Just behind the great hoppy beers at Russian River. mreusch (433), Olathe, Kansas, USA May 14, 2008 22oz. bomber, with a big thanks to AgentSteve for this bonus! Pours a hazy golden with a towering and persistent chunky sea foam head that leaves thick sheets of lace. Aroma has a nice nose of floral, citrus and some pine. Flavor is a nice balance of citrus and sweet, with a little more pine blended in and a well controlled hops bite. Very quaffable and tasty; thanks again Steve!
